Anyone thought about antihistamines?

I have been EPing for 17 months. I am tired. They are tired. We are all tired. SO I am weaning. I got to my goal - surpassed my goal - and feel good about my freezer stash.

I dropped from 6X to 5X and already have a bad clog. Worried about mastitis.

Has anyone thought about taking an antihistamine to help reduce supply? I also pump for the milk bank - so I know what drugs are safe for the babies.

I am not weaning but have a bad cold right now and would give anything to be able to take Sudafed but I know it'll decrease my supply. I have heard of people taking it for that purpose and it should work. Just a note, Sudafed is a decongestant, not an antihistamine which is why it dries up the milk (and your nasal secretions). Medications like Benadryl and Claritin are antihistamines and should not dry up the milk (histamine is not involved in milk production to my knowledge). I read on Kellymom that Sudafed was OK for baby but would dry up milk. I'd give it a try if I were you...
