When did you start dropping pumps?

I know it's a little early for me, but I was wondering at what week you all started to drop pumps. I was aiming for 12 but I think I am about to lose my mind and would love to start sooner. My son is 5 weeks old and I currently pump 15-20 minutes, 8 times a day and I am now making between 40-48 ounces a day...

Hi,
My situation is different. Nolan started bfing at about 2 weeks of age, so my pumping schedule changed from 10 times to 8 times plus 3 bfing a day (he was on a vent and tpn before). When we got home, it was too much for me. I dropped to 6 pumps and three bfing. This lasted about two weeks and I just cut out the bfings. So at 6 weeks, I was at about 6 pumps a day. The less I pumped, the less I got. With 6 pumps I got about 23-25 ounces a day, and I could live with that.

I was producing around 40 oz per day at 5 weeks PP pumping 7-8 times per day. (I keep a spreadsheet). I dropped around 5 weeks PP from 7-8 times per day to 6 times per day and my output increased to around 45 oz per day the first week and around 50 oz the second week. The next week I dropped to mostly 5 times per day and my output again increased to 55-60 oz per day. It wasn't until I dropped to 4 times per day at 11 1/2 weeks that I noticed any decrease. You might want to try it since you are producing such a high amount as it is. A small decrease would not hurt you and you can always add pumps back in if you need to since it's still early.

When you're losing your mind, is when it's time to drop a pump :o)

My daughter is 5 weeks and I dropped the overnight pump last week. I am a LVP and make 21-24 ounces a day. I ff the rest.

Even though I dropped the pump, I still wake up engorged. Yuck :(

Yeah that was my next question- when you drop that middle of the night pump, aren't your boobs in absolute pain? I feel awful when I go 3-4 hours without a pump. What's the longest one should go at night without pumping?
