Dieting is generally not recommended while EP'ing/BF'ing since Mom's need the extra calories while producing milk.

I'm on the chunkier side Melissa, but would be happy getting rid of the 10lbs that would get me to my pre-pregnancy weight.

I'm working full time, with an hour commute each way, so I'm finding it difficult returning to the gym at this point.

I may take a short walk with him now that the weather is getting better, but nothing significant.

I've lost quite a bit of weight while EPing. I was overweight to begin with (size 16-18 depending on brand), and am still technically overweight (size 12). I lost weight slowly (1-2 lbs / week) and did it all by eating less calories and making better choices with food.

I used babyfit (an offshoot of sparkpeople) to help set a calorie goal. To put it in perspective, I was eating 2000-2200 calories per day (seems like a lot), but I was still able to lose weight slowly with this amount and also wasn't ravenous. The website will take into account that you are nursing, and your current weight, to help set a calorie goal for you. I undercut it by a few hundred calories per day (I was a HVP so presumably burning TONS of calories from that), and my supply was not affected. My advice is to just take it SLOWLY to start.

I've lost 40+ pounds so far, and it seems like a lot at the beginning, but if you chip away at it slowly it will come off eventually!! Good luck!
