Ok, 7 months pp...I used to make enough to freeze everyday between 5 to 15 ounces. My supply has always fluctuated. I now barely satisfy my boy. Some days I have up to 5 ounces to freeze where other days recently I'm having to thaw out 2 or 3 ounces...and my supply seems to be going down! I pump 3 times a day for 30 to 45 minutes with several times a week doing a power pump. I only have 65 days worth in freezer. Which is better...use up my freezer supply first and have to supplement with formula closer to his 1 year birthday or supplement now some so that I can keep him on at least some milk until his birthday? I originally hoped to keep him exclusively on bm until 12 mos, but it seems like my supply is not agreeing with me! I'm frustrated and disappointed in myself. I want to do what's best for my son!

I would use the BM first, because:
1. at 7 months, your LO is at PEAK consumption. it may decline as he eats more solids and come back in line with your supply
2. your supply could bounce back
3. BM loses quality the longer it's frozen.

HTH!

I agree, you should use the frozen bm as your supplement now. If you keep pumping, he will still get bm
down the road if you have to switch to formula.
