Ready to do some decorating!!
| Sun, 08-10-2003 - 10:44pm |
Okay, I'm only 7.5 weeks PG and already looking for catalogs, websites and anything else I can find for ideas on decorating the nursery! Obviously, I can't do too much as I have to find out whether we're having a boy or girl; but, once we do, I want to be ready to go! I have spent the last 10 years waiting for this moment and want it to be really special. Have any of you guys found a great magazine and/or book that really impressed you? Or, how about an awesome website? I'm waiting on my catalog from poshtots.com and am fired up about it! :O)
Many thanks!
Congratulations!

Some stores I used:
Bellini (dresser, lamp, glider, slipcover for glider, changing table)
Shabby Chic (crib sheets, bumper, skirt, blankets, diaper bag, Material for curtains and chair slip cover, lamp shades)
BabyBox.com (hand made letters to hang in room that spell out baby's name, book holder)
BuyBuyBaby (rug, dresser knobs, stroller, basics, car seat, etc...)
TJ Maxx and Homegoods (little wall shelves and vases)
I saw some cute stuff on Pottery Barn Kids also.
Depending where you live, you can look online for baby stores/boutiques in your area. I found a bunch that had such cute stuff...they are fun to browse in and get ideas...even if it is too early to buy!
Good luck and enjoy all the excitement!
I don't know about you but I have a hard time registering somewhere expensive because I feel like I'm asking too much of the people that are buying for me... so I found that Target had great stuff for great prices. I can't wait for my baby shower so I can start decorating the baby's room.
Have fun looking around... and hope you have a H&H baby.

I can't describe how awkward and uncomfortable it was to be on my knees crawling around trying to paint when I was swollen and off-balance.
Here's some more unsolicited advice. DOn't spend a fortune on comforters and dust ruffles and things that look nice, but aren't practical. You can't use the comforter anyway because of suffocation hazards. There will be PLENTY of expenses once this little bundle comes along - so don't go whole hog on the decorating. JMO!!!
