Wedding Gown to Christening Outfit

I just wanted to share with everyone what I did with my wedding gown. I decided I wouldn't hold onto it to pass it down to a daughter or daughter-in-law, etc mostly because it takes up a lot space for storing and if the girl is any taller than I am(and I am 5'4"), it cannot be lengthened because my gown was lengthened at the waist. Because of the style, more material just could not be added in and there wasn't any extra in the seam, so I decided to have it converted to a Christening Gown and Christening Romper (one for a boy and one for a girl) I am very excited to have such a great item to pass down through the family and to have one of each outfit in case I have both is so great. I had enough material in my dress to do both. They are one of a kind and made from the material and details of your gown and I can't wait to receive them! They are being worked on now.

If any of you would like to do that for your babies, here is the site I went to. She is so nice and accommodating to your needs and request. Very pleasant to work with. I will be sure to share photos of my outfits when I receive them :) It's such a great alternative for your wedding gown. I know I had to have my own gown and look forward to picking out a gown for my future daughter if I have one :)

That is a really cute idea! I wish I would have known about it before Cade was Christened.

Make sure to post a picture fo your dress and the outfits when you get them!

I think that is the best idea! My mom is having her wedding gown made into a christening gown as well, I love her so much for it. It's one of the best baby gifts I've gotten. Be sure to post pictures when you get it back!

I will :) I think I remember stumbling across it when I was looking up info on wedding dress heirlooming. I thought it was such an awesome idea and went for it :)
