I am a first time mom. I am in my week 17 and haven't felt the baby flutter/kicking. Should I be concerned? When do the first time moms usually feel baby kick?

I remember hearing that first time moms feel movement sometime between the 18th and 22nd week. I think I felt movement sometime around the 21st week. I know I thought it was late for me to feel movement, but don't worry, you'll feel him/her in time. :-) My little one actually has been quite mellow all along. I am almost 39 weeks pregnant now and even though I feel every movement, this bugger still doesn't move all that often. I'm thinking this will be a calm baby (which is fiiine with me). Good luck with your pregnancy, and don't worry you'll feel that baby soon enough!! :-)

Every pregnancy is sooo different. I feel my babygirl all the time and have since Week 18 (now 28 weeks). But so many of my friends didn't feel the baby until much later. I dont think the doc expects anything consistent before 26 weeks or so (at least mine didn't).

Good Luck!

this is my first pregnancy and i am due in march, but i was just like you, i was wondering when i would feel the baby kick. the first time i actually knew that it was him actually kicking was when i was twenty weeks, but i had been feeling these sensations like gas bubbling in my stomach when i was 17 weeks. my doctor told me that that was actually the baby quickening (tiny baby kicks). dont worry you will feel him/her soon, or maybe you are actually feeling him, but putting the feeling of as something else.

I wouldn't worry about it, I am 23 weeks and just started feeling the baby move last week at 22. Doctor says it depends on many things such as placental attachement and abdominal muscles. GOOD luck!

This is my first pregnancy and I'm due in August. I'm 19 weeks and I've just started feeling the baby move. The movement is still really faint and sometimes there are days that I don't feel anything at all. GOOD LUCK!!!

I didn't feel anything til around week 22. By the end he was such a mover and shaker it drove me nuts because I couldn't sleep (lol). He had the hiccups a lot too.

It will happen all of a sudden.
