WHEN did you tell WHO?

I'm newly PG (about 5 weeks) with our first and I have a very superstitious DH who doesn't think we should tell anyone until we get through the first trimester.

I guess it all depends on how long you can keep it a secret! lol

I had to go to the hospital several times and eventually had to have in home care for IV's, because I was so sick I couldn't get out of bed...so everyone knew very early on! :-)

Hopefully you won't get super sick though so you can keep it a secret if that's what you choose to do!

Good Luck!

There's no such thing as jinxing a pregnancy so if you can't hold it in, then tell whoever.

I would agree with your DH, holding off for the first trimester is better. You can tell everyone after that.. In my case, we told my mom when I was in 5th month. And his mom in 7th month since she is very

Hi I'm Ashley. I'm about 5 weeks pg too. My husband and I aren't telling anyone until Christmas which will be after the 1st trimester. We decided this for a few reasons, in case something goes wrong, we work with many of our family members in a company business, our families are both very big and gossipy and intrusive, and we wanted this time to just be between us before we tell everyone. In our family telling one person means telling everyone so we plan to wait. I think every situation is different so everyone should do whatever is best for them. I don't want to deal with the endless phone calls, questions and attention. I especially do not want to deal with the attention I will get at work.

Also we plan to tell everyone at the same time, because if we don't we'll have to deal with hurt feelings from immature insecure family members.

I'm only 4 weeks but we are telling our parents tomorrow. Our moms knew we were TTC and mine knows where I am in the cycle so I'm sure she'll be asking if we don't tell soon! We figure if something did go wrong, we'd want our parents' support anyway. I think we'll probably tell our grandparents and some close aunts & uncles on Thanksgiving, when we'll be 8 weeks. It really depends on how close you are with your family but we are very close to ours so this is the right decision for us.

I'm still not sure when to tell friends! I told one friend already but he is like my secret keeper and we have lunch every day and I just couldn't keep it in! Another friend of mine was recently pg so I might tell her so I have someone to ask questions

I told at about 6 weeks, and then at about 10 weeks found out we didn't have a heartbeat.

I too think you should wait. It seems like forever, but its worth it.
