hello!! i know a lot of you on this board really dont like walmart, but i swear, i cant live without it!! i dont know what i used to do when there wasnt one around!! i find so many good deals there...on groceries, on health and beauty stuff, on clothes and on toys. i bought clothes for both of my kids yesterday. i spent about 40-45 bucks and this included a pair of shoes for my youngest. i got 5 pair of shorts for my oldest, 2 pairs of capris, a pack of socks, 2 shirts and the shoes. then i went to target. and saw some of the same things but for at least 2 or 3 dollars more. the toys were also more $$ there than at walmart. i try not to buy toilet paper, paper plates or paper towels anywhere but at walmart-unless the store i work at has a good sale.

I love Walmart too, especially for my toddler's clothes.

Watch out for Walmart's prices on food and household items, they're not always cheaper, and can be considerably more expensive.

Last week in Walmart I saw Oreo cakesters for $3.27, in my grocery store they're $1.99. I also saw a set of 5 baking pans (cookie sheets, etc.) for $32.99, which were $19.99 in another store - same pans, same brand.

Don't get me wrong, there are definitely deals to be had there, but I used to assume that they were always cheaper, and that's not the case!

I like The Wall too the one thing I have noticed is YOU HAVE to watch the scanner when checking out. I have found many many many mnay times that what they say on the shelf is not what they say on at the register.

But I do go there more and more. I have friends that hate it though and will not even walk in the door- my non frugal friends.

I've found that WM's prices vary from store to store. For example, the store where I work and therefore mostly shop is cheaper on almost everything I buy than Meijer - and I have to wonder if that's because there is a Meijer only a few miles from it. Another WM - one without any close competition - is slightly higher in prices. Not a lot, but higher than the store where I work. So, you DO have to watch the prices because I've found they DO vary from store to store.

Did you go back to your old job at WalMart? Or are you at a different store now?
