Check for free and discounted admissions
Mon, 08-03-2009 - 3:36pm

Just a reminder about free and discounted admissions.

For example, NM residents receive free admission to state museums and monuments on Sundays. Not only that, but residents receive admission discounts daily, and there are also other days/dates/times throughout the year that are free.

DH, DD, and I were able to go to both The Palace of The Governors and The New Mexico Museum of Art, for free (except for $3 pp to see the American Impressionists exhibit). We did have to pay for parking (Santa Fe is one of the few places in NM where free parking is not readily available near the major attractions) and we did choose to pay for food rather than taking it with us.

Nationwide, The National Park service is offering free admission to many parks the weekend of August 15-16 (they also had free weekends in June and July)

Check and see what sort of free and discounted admissions are available where you live!
