Hi first of all I'm Phyllis I used to post on the shoestring budgeting board, was I surprised to find it gone.

I hate to run in here with a question but I need some help/advice on a food processor. I had my mind made up that I was going to buy the Magic Bullet Express Meal Maker (I love my little magic bullet) but now I don't think so. The only 2 reasons I wanted that one was to ground meat and mix up dough, I have found out that most do these two things and are half the price. Does anybody know if the GE 14 cup is any good or can you recommend one under a $100. Thank you for any input.

I'm one of those people who likes a heavy-duty appliance, but doesn't like to pay a lot.

Hi Phyllis! Glad to see you found your way over here!

I have no advice on the food processors but I'm hoping you'll get some feedback from others here.

Thank you. I probably don't "need" one but I really think it's something I'll use a lot. Wow I looked up that Bosch Universal it is amazing, but it will be a while before I spend that much on one.

You're welcome!

I should have been more clear about what I don't like about the Cuisinart: it doesn't grind meat, so much as it turns it to mousse, I've had no luck with dough in it, and the blades are a bear to clean (I don't put them in the dishwasher).

The Kitchenaid does handle dough beautifully, and the meat grinder attachment is awesome.

It will be a lot of years before I get a Bosch; I have to wear out the blender first, and save more money!

I've got a Cuisinart Mini Prep Plus. It's just a small, 4 cup food processor that sells for around $40. I initially bought it to make baby food, but I've used it for things like hummus, salad dressing, chopping, etc. It's great! For now, it's fine for our family. Once the kids start eating more (and if we have a third child), I might consider buying a larger one. I love the size of this. I can put it in the cabinet when it's not in use, and it's very easy to use and clean.

Honestly, if you spend the money and buy a KitchenAid, you will be glad you did.

Thanks for the input on the food processors, sorry I didn't get back on here sooner. I went to Walmart to buy a Hamilton Beach, they were out and said they would not restock so I went ahead and bought the
