We have a wall oven that is about 30 years old.

If you have credit at a store use the credit.

What I meant is that I have a credit card with a $500 limit on it - just clarifying.

Is it the wiring in the oven, or the wiring to the oven, that needs to be redone?

If it's the wiring to the oven, I'd call an electrician for an estimate. If it's the wiring in the oven, I'd call an appliance repair person (or possibly an electrician)

It's the wiring in the oven.

I agree that getting an estimate on repairing the oven is probably your best first step.

Assuming you DO keep the oven, you can buy appliance paint. That might help the "ugly" factor a little... I am imagining that it is probably a lovely color like harvest gold or rust.

Is there any way to find one on clearance for the amount you have in credit or maybe even a little more and be able to pay the difference?
Find something dented or discontinued....

Well, we just heard from the repair guy and he wants $65 to come and look at it, and from the description dh gave him, said it would cost $100-$250+ to fix it.

check where you live, look for a scratch and dent place.
