Well all in a few hours I will be doing

the one thing I hate to do and that is get weighed. I at one time in my life was bolemic and anorexic, which I had a very hard time coming to terms with and just about lost my life over that due to my digestive system wasn't excepting food to well, which I was tossing my cookies every time I ate food even when I stopped doing everything to my body. I have beein doing my best not to allow the numbers on the scale to drive me back to my old ways and to look at it in a better way. I just tell myself that it is just a number that will go down to what I want it to with hard work and eating a very well balanced diet. Granted at times I do get upset and discouraged by the numbers I see before my eyes, which I know is normal. I just have this awful feeling that I am going to feel horrible due to having this nagging feeling that the numbers are not going to be what I want them to be. I am retaining water due to it being close to that time of the month again in which I usually retain about 5 pounds of added water. How ever I don't want to have to subtract anything in case I am wrong about that, but go by what the number is instead. So wish me luck with being at a lower weight this time around! Oh, I will be also starting the South Beach diet once the book arrives here and am I ever hoping that it works for me. Have a great day all!

Well Michele, I made it through today even though I wasn't able to cover up the number due to it being one of those ones with the two weights on it that you slide back and forth. How ever I did loose some more weight 3 whole pounds, but I was really hoping for more then that though. Oh well at least I did loose some. I do fit my faborite pair of jeans although they are a still a little tighter then I would like them to be on me. I just have to loose another 4 pounds to be down to the weight I was prior to having my oldest son and I want to loose an additional 11 to 12 pounds after that to be back to what I was when my husband and I met, but my husband tells me that is to skinny and
Hi Denise: Sorry, I couldn't wish you Luck on your weigh-in at the Doc's. I haven't been on the computer until early this morning. But see you didn't need Luck. Ya did it all yourself. Good Job! Hey don't put yourself down. Three pounds is 3 pounds
less than you were before. Each pound you lose is 1 pound closer to your goal weight. I am going to have to go back to your and Avery's website. I don't remember you being over-weight. I recall you being a Good-looking Lady, Avery is a Beautiful boy(I also had put a little message in Avery's guestbook. Did it go through?) That was about 1 month ago when I first came on this message board.
Oh by the way, Congrats to your Hubby on losing 14 pounds also. So can I tell my Hubby that your Hubby lost 14 pounds on the Atkins diet? That sure put a grin on my face.
My Man will surely lose 25 pounds. He really hates reading!!!! Wink!! ***Carlie*** ;)
Hi Carlie, I want to thank you for you post. Your post made me laugh and made me feel so good about myself too. I know you are so right about the 3 pounds, because it is 3 pounds in the right direction and I will try to remind myself that I am making progress even if it is slow. Also thank you so much for your quest book remarks in which I did get to read it. Also thank you for the comment on my son, because I like to think he is a cute handsome boy myself as all mothers do. LOL I will be trying to get another page for my 7 month old son done as soon as I can, because I really need to add him to the web page along with my husband and myself. Know that I think about it I really do have a lot of work to do on all of it and need to get going on it all before I forget, but it is just finding the time these days with 2 boys to watch over most of the day.
My husband says to tell you thank you from him, because he is so proud of himself for loosing the weight and really thought that he wouldn't loose any at all. Now he is stuck on the Atkins diet even though he has not read the book or purchased one as of yet, but we have discussed it and need to figure out what Atkins books we think would be best for him. he says to go ahead and tell your husband about his loosing 14 punds, because it it helps your husband then he will be so happy to hear that he helped somebody out. I will be doing the South Beach diet as soon as I get my book that I sent for and read it, because I am so excited about it already and just know with that diet I will loose some more weight for sure. Tacke care and keep me posted on how your doing. Have a fantastic weekend!
Weight is so subjective! Would you believe I am skinny at 165 pounds? I am 5'8" and my PA won't let me be under that weight. On another woman of my height, they might have to lose 30 or 40 pounds. That is why it is so subjective! My oldest is 16 yrs. old, and is her best looking at 150 pounds. If she gains a little, rather than get paranoid, we just kick up the veggies and salads at home and her exercise routine and we do some neighborhood laps together. She is in basketball season, so fast food is frequent for her, but the amount of exercise she gets five days a week makes up for the extra calories. If she doesn't play tennis in the spring, then we as a household will have to kick up the salads and veggies to help her maintain it. She worries about the 'size' on her clothes tags, but I tell her at 5'8", everyone tells her she has a great body, so don't worry about that number! If you need to buy bigger britches, then it is time to cut back on the eating first! My 13 year old is naturally skinny, 110 pound when she is clothed and dripping wet. She is eating us out of house and home right now, but I think she is in a growth spurt. She loves Grandma's apple salad, but grandma makes it for us with fatfree coolwhip and pudding, so it is not fattening. She loves salads and veggies too.
This leads up to my message for you Denise! You said you have had trouble with food/weight in the past, and we can't let it control US! Listen closely to your husband or a friend who you trust. Let them tell you if you need to lose weight, not that voice in your head! You stated that your hubby thought you were too skinny when you were married...you need to listen carefully to what he said- probably all you need to do is lose to where you were with your first son, just about 7 pounds, right? The South Beach diet is suppose to be very close to the Atkins...dh doesn't need his own book per se. In fact I have heard the s. beach is healthy b/c it uses leaner meats, lower fat foods, etc. Maybe you could both use that diet? It makes sense to me! Congrats to you on 3 pounds- the closer you are to your ideal weight, the harder it is to get off! Congrats to dh on his 14 pound lose. Michele H.
Thank you Michele, your post made me feel so much better about myself. I know it is just a number, but try telling that to my brain. LOL I have been doing my best to eat a ton of salads, which I absolutely love and watch my fat. I think I have been doing not such a bad job all in all, but still worry about everything I eat to the point I drive my poor husband nutty about it. I just want to be at my top fit shape so that when spring comes I can go to the park with my almost 3 year old to have some fun and not run out of energy due to the added weight I've put on from my last pregnancy. I've noticed that with more weight I tend to get tired more and my ankles swell up from the added weight, which I am working on to loose some more of it. I know eventually I will get back to feeling better about myself in no time, but for now I have to be happy with how I am at the present.
Oh, by the way I have noticed that some brands of clothes tend to run extremely small in size so don't let you daughters think that they are getting big due to the way some clothes are made smaller. Besides if the clothes you already own fit fine then you obviously haven't gained any weight at all. I have been using that falossipy with my clothes, which tells me I need to loose about another 10 at least to fit them more comfortably. We all have different bone structure as well so what weight is good for one person may not be for another. I just want to get my weight down some before I see my doctor who will tell me to loose the weight any how and I plan to beat him to the punch on that one.
Take care and do have a wonderful day! Can I borrow a few inches? hehehe I am only 4'8.
