Does anyone have a suggestion for extremely dry skin? I have difficulty with dryness particularly on my hands and feet. Is there any particular product that you have used that really helps the situation? I am diabetic and my podiatrist wants me to work on my cracked heels. My hands are also extremely dry and cracking as I wash them a lot. I appreciate any tips you can give.

I hope everyone is having a good day.

It's not sexy, but if you COAT - and I mean cake it on - your feet and hands with vaseline intensive care or lubriderm every night before bed, then put on cotton socks and gloves, you'll see a huge difference in a week or so. Also, get a good pedicure - they'll do a good soak in a skin softening formula and scrape all the dead stuff away.

If you are talking serious cracking, get some bag balm at a tack shop or feed store. It's almost pure lanolin, and your skin will be like a baby's bottom after a few weeks.

I really like lubriderm the best, even more than the really expensive lotions, but I'm sure everyone has their favorites. I don't recommend Suave - I think it's too tacky and doesn't sink in well.

And the number one moisturiser is water - you have to hydrate from the inside out. So if you aren't drinking a minimum of 8 glasses a day, get on it!

Kerasol makes a foot product, guaranteed to rid you of the cracks on your feet. It's what it's made for. If you go to this link, you can request a free sample, and it will arrive pretty quickly: http://www.kerasal.com/tarofiles/kerasalfreesample/

My dad always had very badly cracked feet and did what was suggested to you previously. He used Corn huskers lotion and then put his socks on. He also used Bag Balm for his feet with socks also. Neither really smells good, but they sure do work! Cocoa butter also works and smells good!

For my hands, I use Neutrogena hand lotion. A little bit goes a long way, and because it's loaded with glycerin (which is a natural humectant) it works wonderfully on your hands. I saw a lotion last week when I was buying my new tube of Neutrogena that says it holds up to several hand washings..that may be worth a try. Not sure of the brand now, but it was at Wal Mart.
