This is the first time I have ran into this so maybe someone can tell me how to handle this..

I need to have several teeth pulled I am doing this on Feb 19th. Do I need to call my doctor to see if there is anything special I need to do before this is done? I am going to be awake for this..

Thanks for any information

Tina,

No, not really. But do tell your dentist that you are diabetic. Stock up now on no calorie or low calorie foods to eat while you are recovering. Actually you need to watch your blood sugar carefully because you may experience hypoglycemia since you can't eat as much as normal. So check your blood sugar before you eat so that you can tell what you need to eat.

I hope you feel better real soon,

Mary Frances

It might be a good idea to check with your PCP; s/he may want to put you on an antibiotic prophylactically.
