Hi everyone -
Sorry I have not been around much things have been quite busy the last few months. But I did want to report in to you all who helped me so much when I was first diagnosed with T2 daibetes in October and let you know how I was doing.
In October I had an A1C level of 7.7, my average fasting level was about 135 and my average 2 hour post meal reading was 180. I am VERY HAPPY TO REPORT that now at my roughyl 3 month doctor check in. I have:
- Lost 5 pounds
- Have lowered my A1C reading from 7.7 to 6.7
- Have fasting levels below 110 5-6 days a week and have post meal levels below 140 at least 80% of the time.
I realize I have a long way to go and that without the oral meds (Avandia and Amaryl) I might not be doing so well, but I am prety proud of myself. Even with the holidays and all that my levels have come down.
Now I am not perfect. I still cheat on occassion and struggle with my carb levels daily but my doctor said he was happy with my progress for the first 3-4 months of being diagnosed.
Sorry to be so self promoting but it helps to keep me motivated to do well.
I hope you are all doing ok and I will be checking in more often now that things have settled a bit in my life.
