Hi, As far as menu suggestions, I would go with small amounts of lean protein, lots of veggies, low glycemic index fruits, very small amounts of the starchy carbs, ie. Potatoes, rice, pasta, snacks of popcorn, nuts, sugar free jello etc. She probably knows better than anyone what she can and cannot eat, have a good time!

Hi welcome the board, I am one of the community leaders for this board who has been a type 1 diabetic for over 28 years now and also have been using a insulin pump for over 6 years now. I do have a few suggestion for you with checking out our "Diabetic Recipes" folder with there being some great recipes there. You could also check your local library for diabetic cookbooks that can help you and just have copies made of the recipes you would like to make for your M.I.L and do remember that she will now what is best for her out of anybody so you could always just call to ask her what she would like while there so that way you can already have the grocery shopping all done ahead of time. I really hope this helps you out some and that when your M.I.L gets to your house that everything works out well for you with the meals and all the way around. Take care and do have
