It's official. I was diagnosed type II Tuesday and my doctor is sticking to his decision. He called me yesterday to review my upcoming surgury and we discussed his diagnosis. He will call me with my latest round of labs (new A1c) and was concerned if I had seen a dietician yet. I have and he said just keep taking the meds, step up the excercise and diet a bit and he'll keep an eye on me.

So ladies. Here I am and I'm hopeful I can manage this condition as best as I can. I hope to offer support and encouragement to all - you have been so kind in the past in answering my questions - I look forward to doing that for you soon!

Take care!

Hi Jennifer! Sorry you had to join us with a true diagnosis, but we're glad you're here. Everyone here has been most helpful and supportive to me, and I know you will find this to be true for you.

Hi Jennifer,

Welcome to our sisterhood! I am gald you decided to stay and join our conversation. This is a safe place to come.

Please refresh my memory, what kind of surgery are you going to have? You are not alone with that either. We have to set up a convalescent section! Jumping Rope

Thanks for the warm welcome ladies!

My surgury is scheduled for March 26 and it will be another attempt at dealing with menstrual problems (like we didn't deal with enought already!). It's called an uterine ablation and it's my last effort to avoid the hysterectomy (I'm only 38 for gosh sakes!) I had it done last year and it was mildly uncomfortable - nothing too major.

SO now I set my sights on my upcoming vacation and actually learn how to relax. In a sense, it is almost calming to know where I stand on the diabetes issue - I can focus on improving my habits and maintaining control.

Take care and thanks again for welcoming me to this sisterhood!

Welcome to the world of sticks and logs! I'm a newbie, also.

I must have missed the discussion of the surgery. I just joined this board a couple of days ago. Hope it goes well for you.

Need to talk...I'm here.

Hi Jennifer, I am so sorry there wasn't a mistake in your diagnosis since I know how badly you wanted there to be one. I know it is going to be so different for you with trying to learn what you can so that you may better control your blood sugars. Be glad though that it was caught since so many people go without being tested and come to find that they have been diabetic for a while or even die from not being tested for it. I hope you will like joining in on some of our conversations or even start one of your own, but do know that we are all here for you with the support, encouragement, hugs, shoulders, ears, and information to questions you may have. I really am looking forward getting to know you better and I know you will find this board to be very helpful with all the great members we have here including yourself. Get comfy, make some new cyber friends that I just know you will make and ask any questions you have that you are in need of some answers to. Take care and do have a stupendous weekend!
