As for today, my blood sugar was ok, I woke up with a number in the 130's. Then at lunch it went up to 240. I then decided to fax my food log and bs log to my CDE/dietician for her to look over. I wanted for her to see the frequent highs I have been experiencing the last few days. She did get back to me, she told me to increase my basal rate by .1 (so now I am at .8) and before I go to the gym either have a snack or reduce/suspend my basal rate so I don't drop too low and then rebound later on. I had a small snackk before went to the gym, but still experienced a low of about 40 after. Then I pigged out at dinner :( and I went back to the gym (hoping to avoid another high). I tested a little while ago and was at 119, so I was satisfied. Today went a lot better, bs wise, then the last few days, even though I did have that 240. I went to the gym twice today, even though I was exhausted, in order to avoid another high (which I did manage to do). But I can't live at the gym just to keep my blood sugar stable. It just isn't realistic and don't think I would be able to keep it up too long. There has to be an easier way!
I am still questioning what's going on with me, and don't know if I will be able to figure it out. The only thing that I can think of is that I have changed my site recently to my leg. I was soley using my stomach before, which I wasn't too thrilled about, and decided to give my leg a shot. Well, the first time I had put the site ther, things were fine. However, each time after I had too many occurences of highs, so I am wondering if it's not a good site for me. I do work out a lot, and am thinking that maybe my legs are a little too muscular for me to inject there (unlike my stomach, lol :)) So next time it's back to my stomach. Hopefully that will improve things. I am slso thinking that I have been extra tired lately, that could affect things too. And not too mention that there could be an infection like was mentioned. I guess I am concerned about the cause of this, but I am more concerned about getting things right and hopefully will see improvement soon.
Anyway, that's my update...sorry that it turned into a novel here. But I do want to say thank you all again. And if anyone has any suggestions for me or questions that you think I should ask my Endo or CDE, please let me know. :) Your advice, info, and support, is more helpful to me then you can ever know.
Thanks so much!
Andrea

Hi Andrea, I am so glad that your blood sugar came down for you and to also let you know that after a high or low you can usually expect a rebound in blood sugar so the 240 is to be expected some times. Also to tell you that your legs are so much slower in absorbing the insulin and that the stomache area is the quickest place for
