This weekend, am hoping the nasty slippery stuff outside goes away!!! We lucked out last nite and had rain and then snow but it didnt have sleet or freezing rain before changing to snow...but the the roads and sidewalks had really heavy snow with a lot of moisture under it. AFter I left work tonite and went to store for groceries....the driving was NOT nice!!

Actually my big plan for the weekend is to try to clear an area in the living room, so i might be able to try to use one of the exercise walking videos. Would like to try going to the Y but unless the respiratory bug induced asthma behaves itself.... would probably only be able to do 10-15 minutes there.

Am frustrated by the fact that my planning ahead to try to make sure bad weather didnt cause problems with my exercising got felled by the respiratory bug that hit. THat said it does sound like I have been luckier than a LOT of us who caught one of them. It didnt do nasty and extended nastiness to my BG levels. they were up a little when i first got really sick...but the asthma inhalers I use are not steroid ones. Have to confess i really hate them though because they give me insomnia really bad, so i dont take them all the time.

So far unless I am totally missing soaring blood sugars at some point(i admit i havent checked it as often as i did when i was exercising(always before and after exercise).....but still have morning levels usually between 90-120(that high is usually if i went of the food plan the nite before)...

Have found it much harder to eat healthy, in part due to craving comfort foods(soups, mashed potatoes, pudding, lots of orange juice(have been good here....i used to often drink 12 ounces or more at once if i was sick...have held usually to less than 8 ounces and only as part of the allowed carbs). Have mostly avoided going to fast food places although i have hit the oriental place at the local grocery store. havent been able to find nutrition info on the meals they have. so have gotten something that doesnt seem as salty, get the white rice instead of the fried rice, and then basically eat very little of the rice!!

That said this weekend, am going to try to clean out the frig and plan some better backup things to eat, and I SWEAR when i get over this current bug and get some energy am going to get some chicken and make some homemade chicken soup to freeze!!

If the nice weather holds, I might take Meg for a walk in her stroller. My Mom lives about a mile away, so her house might be our destination. Regardless of the weather, I plan on doing at least 10 minutes on my exercise bike, at least once this weekend.

Wow, your doing way better than most of us who catch the bug and end up with those wonderful (NOT)high blood sugars. I am so glad to hear you have no experienced the sever high ones like I do, because it really does not help to fight off the bug with only weakening you immune system even more. So you are having the best type of blood sugars with the bug, which makes me so very happy for you.

Now don't kill yourself for not eating the way you know you should, because we all do go off our meal plans every now and again, which as you know we do it to comfort ourselves or to self indulge ourselves with some good foods, the very naughty ones. It is good to hear that your ot over doing it with the orange juice, because that can cause you some super high blood sugars like you know. I'm sure you already know that though about the orange juice causing that problem though. So just at least eat what you can so that your at least eating until you get yourself feeling better and have more energy to make yourself some of your home made chicken soup, which I have to admit sounds so delicious with not having had anything home made in ages due to my not being a very good cook or never having learned how to cook.

Well, take care and do keep us posted on how your doing when you feel up to doing so. I cannot wait to have you back more on a permanent basis, because you always have something very interesting to say or teach us. So do your best to get your health back, but also your energy since it isn't fun not to feel up to do anything at all due to a nasty bug. Do have a wonderful day!

Wow, you have to have a ton of energy or are that committed to making sure you get your excercise. I say due to the fact that I will not go out in our freezing temps at all to do any kind of walking especially with my 2 boys. Of course I could handle some excercise biking to get my excercise just as long as I don't have to go into the freezing temps at all. LOL Ok, you caught me I hate cold weather in which we have way to much of it here and it just seems to keep coming. I am so ready for Spring to be here that it isn't even funny at all. So
