is expensive? I bought some canned peaches/apricots on sale today - I plan to rinse out the canned fruits and just use the fruit. Will the sugar in the fruit become less if I rinse them out?

What can I use the sugar syrup in? Can I use it to bake muffins/cakes/pancakes?

Thanks!

I'm not sure what you intend to use the fruit as but as a fruit side go for it.

When I use canned fruit I try to get the stuff that is packed in water or fruit juice, not syrup.

I used canned peaches to make a peach pie for New Years day dinner. Worked out very well. I can't see why you can't sub canned for fresh. If you bought the kind in syrup, I'd probably not only rinse, but soak in clear water for a few minutes to try to get a little more sugar out.
