Carb options sauce & Atkins pasta review

Hi everyone! Last night we had the Atkins pasta for dinner with the Carb Options Alfredo sauce. The sauce was good, not really much different from the regular Ragu. The pasta however is something we'll never buy again. It had a weird taste, not really pasta like, was very rubbery (we compared it to what we thought eating rubber bands would be like) and it also had a bizarre texture. It wasn't smooth like pasta, but had a grittiness to it.

Thank you so much Angie for sharing this with us all. I am now so excited to try to the Alfredo sauce this weekend. I will how ever stick witht he vegetable pasta we always buy since they taste great and cook so well. I'll let you know my opinion on the sauce, but I know I iwill be thrilled with it. Now I want to try the other food on the list that they have listed, because if they have great penut butter I am on that for sure. I do like to have a peanut buter and jelly sandwhich every once in a while so why not have peanut butter with less carbs to help out. hehehe Take care and have a fun excercising day!

Hi Denise! The carb count on the peanut butters were only a gram different, but the real difference was in the sugar. The regular peanut butters use corn syrup as their sweetener, where as the Carb Options one uses Splenda. Anything helps, right? I'm anxious to find the salad dressings now!

Denise, the peanut butter is Skippy "re-invented" and since we're a Jif family - it's not the same flavor I'm use to, but it's good. I spread it on crackers more than on bread though, so I don't use a lot at a time when I use it.

HI Harriette! Thanks for the heads up on the salad dressing! We love Italian dressing, so it's something I'll have to look for!

Thank you Angie for the information. We are also pretty much a Jif family, but my oldest son loves the skippy honey nut peanut butter so much and eats many peanut butter and jelly sandwhiches for lunc. so we do buy the skippy for him to eat. I don't eat much of it either, but I do occasionally love it on bread and crackers. I'l let you know what I find later tomorrow night about the Carb Option foods. Take care and have a fantastic weekend!
