Over the rainbow to a smaller size

Hi all - Just wanted to let you know that my trip OTR to smaller boobs was great!  The good news is that everyone was  so right about waiting being the hardest part. Surgery and recovery room were a breeze. After leaving recovery, I end up with a room in the pediatric ward because the med surger floor was packed. It was SO NICE. Not only did I get a private room but more nursing attetion because the staff at a high level level per patient. So that was the good news.

The bad nws (at the time) was that my morphine drip was not working and no one noticed from 3pm - 10 pm when I really said the pain is getting worse.. I had been puishing the self admintor button but I aad no idea it was suppoed to beep in dicate it was workin  Finally A spoke to a about my pain level increasing and she was fidgeting the the morphine thing and then she tried to push the botton and when it did not beep - she said "Oh hon you are a tropper this thing has not given out drop. So I was hurtina bit ore than needed but  I finally got what I needed and slept on an off for few hours at a time. She must have apologized 1000 times. So for those of you out there waiting to go OTR - even without the morphine it was bareable after surgey..but it certainly helped once I did get it.

The other 'mix-up" if you will is that they were giving me an IV that had glucose as well as saline in it...So when I took my blood sugars and they were 280 -  I freaked. They asked me if I would like to rey taking another pill oally before trying insulin. And they chaned my IV to strainght saline solution. We agreed I would try taking my pill before going insulin and I am glad I did becaue an hour later I ws down to 199 an my fasting this AM was 92!

So that is all I will right for now as my arms are starting to gt sore and i want to rest.  Thanks to you all for your support.

I was sent home with the tighest bandage ever. She peeked at my girls done into the bandage and said the coloring was good etc. BUT that she had t leave the drain in until Monday . They don't hurt -just somewhat of a nusance but she said it will help swelling tremdouly. So drains I have. I wish I could them but again the P word...till Monday.

I will write more when I am feeling a bit more pep in  me. Thanks so much for all your well wishes.

Michelle S.

Michelle~

Am so glad that it went fairly well. My suspicion is that in recovery they changed your drip to the mixture with glucose. Dodos!!! Anyway, now that's over, and you're back on the trail.

Take care of your "girls". You'll be sore for a little while, but it'll get better and better.

(((hugs)))

Oh Michelle, I am absolutely so very glad to hear that the surgery went so well. So sorry to hear about that darn morphine not working for you though. OUCH! I have had that happen only once to me and lets just say that it makes it difficult to know if it is just you or the darn medication not working for you. Good to hear that you got the added nursing help, because it is always so super nice to get help when you really need it. Talk about being so lucky that at least one of the nurses checked your morphine drip or you would have layed there in pain, but that wonderful

Hi Michelle: Congrats!!!! You made it! I was worried about you. I am so Happy

that you are up and about and Happy too! Except for some pain, I can only imagine. You are Happy, Right? I hope so! My friend Joan had that reduction done many years ago. She was 48 DD or EE, I don't know now. But she was reduced to a 44 DD or something like that. Boy was she happy. Her back was killing her alot before the reduction.

I can't believe what you went through though, with the lack of Morphine and the excess glucose. Talk about incompetence. Well, I'm glad she apologized 1000 times. That is the least she could do. At least the surgeons did a good job for you. Is there

any special things you have to do Diabetes-wise or other-wise to help you heal faster

and make you feel better faster??

How ironic, you got a Breast reduction and my Beautiful(And she is Movie-star Beautiful)19 year old, 116 lb. niece felt she had to have a $5000. breast implant.

Can you imagine? She was a nice size before, but she felt she wasn't big enough. We couldn't believe it. All the crap they see in movies and advertisements and magazines

and the garbage the boys are seeing. Some stupid or inadequate feelings these girls are feeling is ridiculous. Just because your're blown up doesn't mean your beau ain't gonna go for another blown-up. And when they eventually mature most guys would take a real womans breasts over fake ones cause they know some problems will eventually come from it which they won't want to have to pay for.

Well anyways Michelle, I'm glad you did what you feel is best for you and we all wish you a very fast and "as painless as possible" recovery. Feather-light wishes.........
