just had to shout it out....
| Mon, 03-15-2004 - 12:03pm |
I just had to shout it out that the last two days my BS have been great! Not a reading over 140! Even yesterday when I HAD to have a Big Mac (I know I know) I came home and climed my stairs 50 times to exercise it off (since my exercise is limited while I recover). So that is all I have to report and I am taking it one day...no one reading...at a time. But when I have good days it encourages me to have more good days....and to walk by whatever it is that might be tempting me. Thank you all so much for your support!

Thanks MF - How are you doing? I have been thinking a lot about you lately and hope that things are going a bit more smoothly for you in the insulin study you are in. If you have a minute to drop me an email I would love to know how you are doing. Hugs right back to you.

Hi Michele;
I am still on the same doseage of insulin because I had a 59 reading last Friday morning. I didn't think my blood sugar could go that low anymore! I am still having difficulties with food and keeping my blood sugar up especially after breakfast. I am now trying to have 45 grams of carbos and some protein which holds me about 3 to 31/2 hours. That's okay if I am not working because I can eat my breakfast late and then eat lunch at a normal time but like today I had breakfast before 7 AM and then a glucerna bar at 10:30 when my blood sugar was 76. I then had to drive to a meeting 15 miles away and I certainly wasn't driving well. The good news is that my average blood sugar has dropped to 129 which is close to goal. The CDE thinks I need about 2 more units of insulin to get to that level. But they won't increase it as long as I am having the severe lows. And believe me I don't want them to increase it. It has helped cutting one of my
Your so very "welcome" Michelle, because I can so relate to you. I do well when things are going well, but as you I do get into ruts every once in a while and try with all my might to pull myself out of it. So your not alone with that one at all, because I know so many that go through that as we do and they manage to get themselves back on top of it all. All we can do is try out best to maintain and manage the diabetes while not beating ourselves up if things are not going as we so wanted them to be going. So you just take it day by day to see what comes and if you get into a rut just grab ahold of something to pull yourself out, get back on top of things once again even if that means working your way up from the top and do what you must to get things back in control. At least I try my hardest to use that modo, but do forget at other times. LOL Such is life a world full of mysteries for us all to figure out through out our lives, but the worst part is not knowing everything when it is time for us to leave this place we call home.
Take care of yourself and do have a fabulous day!
