Just diagnosed and overwhelmed a bit

First of all, I'm so glad I found this board.

My blood test results were read to me over the phone on Mon.  Yesterday the dr put me on Actos and exercise.  I see a dietician on Monday to learn how to check bs and to eat anew.  I'm glad I bought a treadmill last year.

My fast bs sugar was 157.  Two hours after eating was 196.  My hemoglobin was 7.3%.  Doc said it's a mild case, but something we need to get under control.  D. runs in my family (and in my husband's family).

I was really happy to see the recipe section here.  I'm also being treated for migraines and am on a diet for them too.  Wonder what I'll be able to eat???

I'm in a little shock, but also I'm determined to be in as much control as I can be.  Time to wear out the treadmill.

Thanks for listening.

Good? IT'S WONDERFUL!!!

Keep up the good work. I'm proud of you. Remember 2 hrs post-prandial (post-meal) needs to be below 140.

Classes? When? Meter? When?

Doing classes in 4 sessions, rather than 2 long days.
