What do you know about IVF meds? I had offered to be an egg donor for my best friend over a year ago when she had her ovaries removed due to cysts. Since being diagnosed with diabetes, I am second guessing that decision. She hadn't mentioned it in several months, but brought it up again on Saturday while at a party for her husband. I'm on Metformin and have controlled my sugars wonderfully since being diagnosed. I have not found any information on the internet about the IVF meds (Lupron, Pergonal) in conjuction with being diabetic. The one thing I did find was referring to diabetic women seeking egg donors themselves when trying to conceive. That seems to go along with my second guessing myself, but do you know about how the drugs would interact and affect my sugars? Thanks for any information you can give me!

Angie,
I don't know a thing about this. The only thing I know is that you can't be pregnant and on oral medications because they haven't been tested on fetuses. I can't imagine what mother would sign that permit either.
There is an IVF board here at iVillagehealth and some of the folks there may know.
Sorry I can't be more helpful. :-(
