I wanted to let you all know about this!

I went to the eye doctor today since I kept feeling like there was something in my eye for over a week now and had DH look in which he said that I had 2 very small bumps on the inside of my eye lid on the right eye. So I called to make an appointment right away on Tuesday since I wanted to get those bumps gone. Well, I get there and sign in with no problems at all. I get called up and give the generally information they always ask for since I have been there for well over 15 years now. Any ways I see the doctor who begins to do several looks into both eyes, but the right on in particular. He than stops to tell me that I have what is called an ulcer on my cornia of my right eye that is causing the pain and irritation I am feeling. He tells me that he wants me to see the cornia specialists that are also in the same office as him so he asks the receptionist if one of the cornia guys was in today, which she tells him no they are at the North office so he tells me that he is going to call them to talk to one of the to see what they suggest for treatment. In the mean time he gives me a drop in the eye to numb it since he states that he will take care of the 2 very small bumps, but does not even do that and instead has me sitting in another room while he waits to hear from the other doctor. Well, finally the other doctor gets back from his lucn break and they discuss my problem on the phone in which I could hear all of the conversation taking place from the doctor I was seeing. He comes in and tells me that I he wants me to see the cornia doctor in a few days and to use an antibiotic drop every hour, but also do not wear the one contact at all until the ulcer is gone. We go to get the prescription filled at my normal pharmacy when we are told that I have no insurance so we rush to the Social Health Services office to see what is up with that only to find that I do indeed have insurance according to them. We go back once again to the pharmacy that I have been with for 16 years now to find that they still say I have no insurances so they put in a call to Olympia where the head department is located and was told I do not have insurance. So once again we go back to the Social Health Services to get to the bottom of this problem. We get told to have a back up pharmacy just in case of things like this. We had to see the super visor of that department who than puts in a call to his super visor in Olympia in which he is told that I do have insurance just no listed yet on their computers over there and that they pharmacy is suppose to take a photo copy of the medical coupon for their records and do the paper work instead of always depending upon the internet since apparently they are lazy with not wanting to do the paper work. We get back to the pharmacy in which we all are upset and tired with starting out the door at 12 PM and not getting home until 5:46 PM. The pharmacy also received a direct call from the super visor in Olympia who told them to take a copy of the coupon since I will not be listed on the computer for them to use until some time tomorrow. We than find out that I need to call my diabetic doctor to swich my acid reflux back to the name brand name one since it is covered under state and the non one is not with state when it is with our MSN. We just don't have to money to pay the added copayments that are set by MSN, which we no longer have as of April 1 so we are all on state fully now. We also have to call the eye doctor back to get the antibiotic drop changed since it is not covered under either insurance MSN or state and we most certainly cannot or do not want to pay the $50 for the drops. Luckily the eye doctor gave me a sample to get me started on so that I was able to get going on the treatment.

So here is my warning I am doing my best to read all the posts, but with my having had cateracs and many laser treatments to my eyes I am legally blind with out my contacts  and I do not have glasses to wear when I do not have my contacts in. So please bare with me, because I will most likely make several typo's and might even miss a few posts. If by chance I miss your post please do put up post with the words missed post for me so I can get to it. I am sorry if that is inconvenient to anybody at all, but I am so hoping that my eyes is back to normal come Monday that I can once again put my contact back in my eye to be able to see again or that there is nothing seriously wrong with my cornia. That is my update for you all on my eye or reason for a missed and even forgotten post. Take care and wishing you all a super day!

Hi Denise:

Wow! You sure are having a really rough time of it

lately, Girl. I'm very sorry to hear that. Pretty

sad when people who are supposed to be there for their

clients, can mess things up so bad, at your expense.

At first when you mentioned small bumps under the

eyelid, I was thinking sty(since my Hubby gets them

usually twice a year). I guess not. I do hope they can

fix that problem for you. Did the Doc who saw you

know what would have caused the ulcer? Maybe the

contacs,Diabetes, etc? I didn't know that you could

see clearly if you wore contacs and glasses at the

same time. Well, ya learn something new everyday.

Do you still have the cataracts or did you have them

removed?

Sending lots of "well" vibes your way and I hope your

situation is much better soon. Have a Sunshine Day!

If you don't mind my giving you a little piece of advice, keep your eye closed as much as possible. When the animals were treated for corneal ulcers, one of the things that was done, was to suture the eyelids closed. I know this is done in some cases for humans too (probably really deep ulcers), but it can't do any harm to keep your eye closed. I hope that you have good luck, and that you eye heals rapidly. 2sweet02

You just take care of yourself. Don't worry about us! You just do what the doctors tell you to do.

Hey Carlie, it is so great seeing you post again. The doctor did not know what the ulcer was caused by, but did say that when I came back on Monday that the cornia doctor would have my contacts looked at with the contact department to see if there are any rough edges or something like that. So we shall see what the cornia doctor can tell us about this ulcer I have. I do know that it is not caused by my diabetes though since the doctor that I say told me so. Just something either caused by my contact rubbing or a fluke thing. I will know more for sure come Monday on it though and will post when I find out more about it.

Yes, I had my cateracs taken out as

Your more than welcome to give me advice, because it never hurts anything by doing so. I tend to keep myeye closed a lot since that is the only way I can see things most of the time and the drop tends to make the eye feel strange as well that I tend to close it for a while. At least I will know more on this ulcer come Monday, which could not come any quicker in my opinion. LOL I will let you know what I find out some time on Monday. Thank you for the luck and the healing, because I can sure use it right now. Take care and do have a fantastic weekend!

Thank you Kathi, I am doing what the doctor told me so far. How ever I am not enjoying the not being able to see so much, but of course I know it is for my own good until my eye heals so I just keep doing the drop every hour and leaving the contact out of that eye. I sure hope that I can wear it once again come Monday, but we shall see some then and I will be sure to post about what all I find out come Monday.
