Food Labels

I have a question about the accuracy of food labels. I have two cans of refried beans. They are from the same company; Rosarita. One is vegetarian and one is fat free. One one can it says there are 18g of carbs and 18g of dietary fiber. I found this hard to believe, I mean... ALL of the carbs are fiber? OK, so I checked the other can. 17g of carbs and 6g dietary fiber. This sounds more likely. So the question is, is there anyway both are correct? Is this kind of thing common? How trustworthy are these labels?

I have always been something of a label reader, but that has increased since last week when diabetes came into our lives. At this point we are just starting out and trying to get the carbs into control... but it seem like some people could get into trouble if they follow what they read on some labels if they have this kind of error.

Does anyone know more about this?

Email Rosarita and ask them! It sounds screwy, I agree.
