Hypoclycemia ?

As you ladies know I just found out a couple of days ago im hypoclycemic.Im still trying to learn as much as I can. I just need to know a couple of things.
What is a safe sugar level my Doctor gave me a paper that said 70 to 115, is there a leeway either side of these number. What if its 65 or 125, do I need to worry? Or as it’s so close to the normal # so there’s no need to worry.

Julie, I am not hypoglycemic, so I am not qualified to answer that.
I am not hypoglycemic myself, but I do know that the main thing is to keep your blood sugar over the 70 level with that being the hardest part for you. If by chance your blood sugar goes over 120 do not worry about it since it will come down on its own. Now with your bine hypoglycemic it is more important to prevent your blood sugar from going low since that is why they call it hypoglycemia meaning low blood sugar. So just work on that and do not worry if you happen to go to 125 since it is so unlikely that it will stay there that long, which it is not at all a high blood sugar by no means.
How ever if you have questions I really suggest you call to ask your doctor or nurse to explain it better to you since they are the best qualified to give you the correct answer to your quesion. Besides how else are you to better learn if you do not ask your questions and get the answers to them. I really hope that you do not experience anymore drastically low blood sugars as you have
Julie,
There are many numbers that you will see which are prefectly normal. But to have a blood sugr less than 70 isn't normal and so when you see a blood sugar at that level immediately eat something. Try to get into the range that your physician has given you. You will see as a normal number a blood sugar btween 110 and 140 two hours after eating so it that case you don't have to worry about it being above 126. If you consistently have a fasting number of 126 or above you have become diabetic. If you consistently have a fasting number of 110 to 125 you are pre-diabetic. Now I don't want you to become diabetic but that may be in the future.
In the meantime how are you doing with your weight? I don't think you have ever told us how tall you are but you did post your weight and if you would like a donation I am sure there are many of us who would happily give 10 pounds here and there!
I hope I have clarified this issue a little bit for you and that you are feeling better. You certainly scared us all last week.

hope these help a little.
Julie,
The weight range for somebody your height is 117 to 143. This 105 lbs for the first 5 feet and 5 pounds per inch thereafter plus of minus 10 %. If you ever wondered how we figured out the weight ranges, there is the formula for women. So on top of everthing else you need to gain about 10 pounds. I certainly don't want to suggest that you get to the top of the range or become over weight as this has such a huge role in the development of diabetes.
Is there any chance that you are going to be covered by insurance anytime soon? The reason that I ask is because of your thinness and your extreme hypoglycemia I think you are warrented to have at least a consultation by an endocrinologist and they are pretty expensive.
Is your present doctor planning for you to have any lab tests done soon?
Take care and check out the web sites you were just given,
Mary Frances
