Help..question on night time lows
| Tue, 04-13-2004 - 6:09pm |
I have been experiencing for the past few nights lows like 66, and 59 when I wake up at 2:30 to use the bathroom. Is this something I should worry about or is this a normal thing. Last night I didn't eat anything, at 2:20 it was 66. my fasting this am was 80. Yes I did have a snack before bed. HeLp!!

Lynn,
Try testing your blood sugar before bedtime. It needs to be in the 110-140 range. If it isn't in this range you need to have 15 grams of carbos before you go to bed. It isn't fun to wake up from a sleep with a hypo episode. Your liver is working to produce glucose from your stored fats. This is why your blood sugar is higher in the morning without eating. Just luckily it didn't get out of control. This is the example for the definition of insulin resistance. Because of your wonderful weight loss you have this pretty uch under control at this time.
Thanks for all the information you ahve posted. I still have the A1C chart that you posted.
