Lee Anne!
I admire the fact that you can work 3-12's and stay on some sort of a good food program!
Working in the hospital, I seldom got to eat when the cafeteria was open or near any reasonable meal time! I did 4-10's and 3-12's, but with mental health you can never plan a crisis! So, atta girl to you!
How about getting together with one of the nutritionists at your hospital for some help?
I wasn't diabetic when I was working at the hospital. I knew a little something about insulin dependence (but hadn't been diagnosed) in the last year. My diet was lousy, and I was tired all the time. I suspect that working there contributed to my insulin dependence and then diabetes. I still don't have good eating habits. Can't seem to get my meals regulated the way they should be.
This is a long way from AA or any other 12 step meeting! (hee hee) Guess I just did it a bit, too.
