Hi, I will try to anser this to the best of my ability. I know that when I have a hypoglycemic reaction that does not get treated soon enough that my liver will kick out sugar stored to bring my blood sugar up. So in my opinion your blood sugar must have gotten down there and your liver just kicked out its stored sugar and caused your blood sugar to be high from this, which is common after having a low blood sugar. Mary Frances can answer this way better than myself since I do not work in the medical field as she does, but this what I know from my own experience. I hope it helps you some.

You are so very welcome. I am glad that it helped you out since I really don't think you are becoming diabetic yet with just having been diagnosed as hypoglycemic. I just suggest that maybe you try one of those bars that are made for diabetics that helps us to prevent from going low during the time we sleep by releasing sugar to us slowly over a given amount of time. They do come in I think it is 3 flavors, which I myself used them for a long time since I had problems with going low in the middle of night. The bars are called Nitebite and here is their web site for you http://www.nitebite.com/index1.html

Since I am on insulin I have to regulate the amount of insulin I get closely, which insulin causes blood sugar to be lowered in which if I make a mistake in my dose I go low or if I don't get enough insulin I go high. I can only tell you from my experience that I have problems at times with lows since I have to eat like every few hours to keep my blood sugar up in the normal range and if I get busy with something esle I tend to have a hypoglycemic reaction. With each trimester I have to get my insulin doses adjusted since babies come a certain time begin to secret their own insulin, which causes the mother to need less usually around the last trimester.

In my honest opinion I suggest you talk this over with your own obstrician to get his or her opinion about your wanting another child since being diabetic is not like being hypoglycemic especially when it comes to pregnancy. I do know that you will most likely need a parinatologist who specializes in high risk pregnancy, which is what you will be considered as I am. I have a team of doctors who watch over me a obstrician gynocologist, endocrinologist, and a parinatologist. One for each area of my pregnancy to handle different areas. That is my suggestion for you since what I say might not be what can happen with you. Hope this helps you out some and I wish you so much luck with achieving this goal since I know all to well how much wanting a child can be so hard when things don't work out as you want them to since my first took me 46 months to conceive. Take care and do have a wonderful day!

Denise

When I used them I ate one every night before bed to help me keep from having a hypoglycemic reaction in the middle of the night. So for you I suggest eating one before bed to see if that helps any to prevent you from waking up with to low of a blood sugar and
