The longer you have a high does that mean the worse the crash will be in a hypoglycemic, i have been in the 170 and 180 for over a hour and im just waiting for the crash.Im haveing a fast heart rate with the high and am very worried im going to have a bad low, i dont know if i should eat crackers for fear or raising it.I just had some cheese and peanute butter so i hope that was o.k

My dcotor is setting up a appointment with someone so i can learn what to eat and what not to, but i think i have been doing very god.Grocery shopping has gone from 1 hour to 2 because i ready all the labels!

Julie,

It has been a couple of hours since you posted your original message and by now you know the answer to your question. I am very hopeful that the steps that you took worked and you didn't experience a severe crash. By eating proteins you should have been able to smooth out your blood sugars.

So I will keep my fingers crossed that all is well with you and I am really glad to hear that you are being sent to a dietitian.

Thank you mary frances im going to ask my doctor about that machine.I have been having a lot more highs the last couple of week in the 160 to 180 but still having lows as well down to the 40's i seem to stay in the 60 and low 70 for the most part. I did good no crash it went down to 70 very slow.
