Visiting the Doc

Well all, I am going to call tomorrow and make an appointment to see my doctor at home.  As ya'll know, I spend most of the year at school and so I don't see my doctor that often.  It was last summer, in August when he had me take the 2 Hour GTT and put me on meds.  I'm going to go see him this week because I'm not sure when else I'll be able to see him.  I'm very curious as to what I should ask him about.  I mean, it's been 9 months or so since I have started the meds, do I need to have any tests done to see if the meds are doing an ok job or if I can have lower doses or anything!?  What do I say when I go see him?

Thanks in advance!!!

Hi Tara,

So you have finished another school year. Congratualtions!

There are absolutely tests that you need done when you see your doctor. You need an A1C, Chem panel, Cardiac Panel which includes lipids, cholesterol and triglycerides and you need a urine test done for microalbumin. You also need to get your eyes checks by an opthamologist with a dilated eye exam. Plus that
