While on my last shopping trip, I found a new product from Post in the cereal bar area. They are Carb Well bars, which are high protein cereal bars. I bought a box of the Peanut Butter and tried one this morning and they are wonderful! They aren't a cereal bar in the same way as the Nutri Grain bars..more like the Cheerio's ones. I already added them to my grocery list so I can have them on hand! Here's the breakdown on the nutritional information:

HI Cheryl! I bought them at Jewel, haven't checked Wal Mart for them yet. The varieties they're available in are Cinnamon Raisin, Cranberry Almond, and Peanut Butter. I hope you can find them! The Carb Well line includes boxed cereals too. I didn't look closely at the cereals because I'm rather addicted to All Bran!

I haven't seen the Q Smart ones here! Just to whet your appetite a bit more, I have decided what the Peanut Butter Carb Well bars are like...a Rice Krispie treat made with peanut butter in it...mmmmm.

Finally found the Carb Well snack bars, thanks for the recommendation, the Cranberry Almond is very tasty. I found them in Winn Dixie (I live in Florida) yesterday and purchased a box of each flavor. They will be a great afternoon treat. Thanks again. Jmcruisin

Winn Dixie, there's a name that takes me back...that and Piggly Wiggly. We always vacationed in South Carolina and would stop at both of them for things for our room. Haven't been back in several years so seeing the name brought back memories! Glad you found the bars, and liked them too!

Another new one for me to look for! I haven't seen or heard of the Momentum bars before. I was just talking to someone about the low carb craze yesterday! We were set up with our products for a charity fundraiser and she had books. I bought a cookbook from her, along with

"Off to Monical's...I've been craving their salad! (Maybe your signature shares some of the responsibility of putting the craving there!)"

I don't usually have pasta cravings, which is a bit surprising because our favorite summer meal has always been pasta salad. I haven't made it since being diagnosed..so I'm doing well. We have a favorite seasonal ice cream shop here that we love. I did an experiment a few weeks ago and had a small serving in a dish. This was the first time I've had ice cream since being diagnosed in January and I could feel it affecting me immediately. I don't remember now what my sugars were when I tested after getting home, but they were still high and I was still all loopy from the sugar. Friends wanted to go there after dinner last week and I knew I couldn't have the small serving so this time did another experiment and had the "baby" serving (which is so small, it's free!) It's about 2 tablespoons and I did fine with it. So ice cream graphics would quite possibly put me (and probably everyone else) over the edge!
