Concerned about my fasting BG

I finally made it to the lab this morning. My dr ordered a fasting BG as well as the A1c (or whatever it's called) he also asked me to take my home monitor and test my BG to see how accurate it is. First off, the girl that took the blood just about killed me. I'm still in pain..I think she hit a bone. But my much bigger concern was my home monitor number. My fast ended up being a 16 hour one cause I went out for dinner last night and ate enough for 4 people..lol...plus dinner was early cause of my sons T-ball game. So my 16 hour fast number was 102. Now I'm sure for most of you that's not a high number. But for me my morning BG is in the 70's and that's approx 2 hours earlier then today with a sanck after dinner the night before. I have rarely seen it that high fasting. I think once it was 115 but that was before the Metformin. What do you think is going on?

Let's just wait and see what all the numbers are when all the tests are back. Your meter should test within 10 percent of the lab number. Looking forward to see what your A1c is and the other numbers.

Take it easy,

The funny thing is..that after the test I had coffee (waiting for me in the car). Then I took my little guy out for breakfast where I proceeded to eat a little pancake and one sausage. Then I checked my number 2 hrs later ...it was 78. I'm starting to wonder if maybe my monitor is outta wack.

What meter are you using and when did you get it? It is possible that there is something wrong with your meter.

I might have some suggestions based upon your answers.
