What interesting things do you have planned for your summer? Are you going wandering like me or just staying home? Are your plans going to take you away from your internet buddies? I ask because some of us worry when we don't see you are here like usual.

If you are going to be gone before I get back myself, I hope you ahve a wonderful time and I hope you will tell us all about it!

Absolutely no vacation plans here since I am not up to doing any traveling at all with being pregnant so staying home for us is the plan, but we will do some fun things with the boys. We are planning on going to the lake a few times, but also going to Avery's favorite park to let him play in the waiting pool and packing us a picnic lunch as well. So that is our plans for the summer with nothing to wild here. Take care and do have a very great weekend!

Not apid anyway. DH gets 3 weeks next yr:) If we really want to do something I will just take unpaid personal time that we cant' afford:( I NEED A VACATION!!!

No grand plans this summer, however I will be going to Biloxi for a long weekend for a gathering of friends which is always fun. Spending some time walking the beach, relaxing by the pool and catching up does the soul good. Hope you enjoy your cruise, it's my favorite way to vacation. Jmcruisin

well, I actually was on vacation on thursday and friday and will also be off till 1pm on monday. BUT cuz i had a bunch of stuff pending...and will be off next thursday and friday....i went into the office for about 2 hours each end of day on thursday and friday. have been relaxing but not gotten much stuff done. still have to pot a whole bunch of my garden yet(i have a "POT" garden in driveway. last summer i didnt get around to potting what i had bought...but so far i DO have about 14 tomato plants potted(including the ground cherries), 7 pepper plants and 2 pots of flowers, and one of crookneck squash(yellow summer squash). still have 2 flats worth of flowers and all the herbs to pot!! i keep swearing i will NOT buy more pots or potting soil...and den fail big time on that! will say i DID refrain from buying a plant at walmart for sweet potatoes. those sound so good now BUT i know it would mean getting a garbage can and filling it with potting or top soil. my guess is moving that around would be WAY beyond me.

am hoping to get some stuff in house organized this weekend....and maybe get rid of some space wasting things!!

anyway next weekend will be going to the dog show in my old town...sister lives there and is one of those in charge.

all my vacation time the last few years has been planned to match dog shows but i havent gotten to any except sisters show. am hoping now that i am a lot more mobile will be able to start going again.

other possibility is if im good and save some money up i might be able to go on another bead hunting expedition. then i can get busy making beaded jewelry!!

I live where everyone else vacations in the summer. I get lots of house guests, and they keep me busy in the summer. This year I'm not as prepared for them as much as I usually am. It is going to be hard to stay on my diet while they are here. Plus I usually have more energy. I will be picking them up at the airport Wednesday night.

I can understand. I resolved to get rid of all my pots when I moved to my new home 12 years ago.

WELLLL actualy i finished potting all the tomatoes tonite. i ended up with i think 23 or 24 pots of them. most are cherry or grape tomato size, but there are a couple early girl and a couple of celebrity which i think ARE also regular size. I also got 2 called something like wayside..... never heard of them, and thought they might be regular size..but realized when i finally potted them that they already have teensy tomatoes on them. so i think they might be more like the sill Tiny tim tomato plant(that one has tomatoes the size of peas!!) anything I dont eat will be grabbed if i take it to work, we now have i think over 50 people in our office. Also the neigbhor lady is welcome to take some...she has 2 small kids. im guessing grape or cherry tomatoes might be enjoyed by them. Somewhere along the line someone snuck a Big Beef tomato plant in my cart, thankfully a single plant. If I had realized I would not have bought it cuz i dont think the big size tomatoes do well at all in pots....but i had it so potted it in the biggest pot i have. Will probably stick my one tomato cage in the pot.

I usually cant really decide what tomatoes to plant, then also I am on the cheap side. So when i have the option of buying one at $3.79 or a 4 pac at $2.19 is seems wasteful to buy just one. Also have had times when i accidently killed a few plants, so i do sorta like to have 2 of each kind. Also to be honest 2 of them are really ground cherries....sort of like a sweet tomato. i have seem them advertised as tomatillo but they are NOT the same at all.

IF I get my old auto watering connector working again....then it will auto water twice a day...i usually set it for 5-8 minutes. that way everything gets watered even if im not around. Its not that much work once i get it set up...have to weed a little, and I confess in the past I did enjoy coming home at nite or at noon and grazing on the cherry tomatoes as they came ripe.

Gee you reminded me, i was gonna try to get swiss chard to grow. I loved that as a kid. When I see it though it the store it along with the bok choy, and all the other semi similar veggies seem so weather beaten and wilted. I havent been very good lately eating veggies and am hoping the garden will encourage me. I may still plant some swiss chard...i have the seeds for it, but will have to see if i can get them to grow.

I do have a whole slew of herbs too...and those I am giving some small pots of away to coworkers. I was talking to a cashier at the store I often stop at...she told me the mexican oregano is spicer...so im sorta wondering how it will be in salads and that. the leaves look like a succulant plant.

i counted tonite and so far i have about 40 pots of plants in my driveway!! Depending on where i put the flowers there may be a few more! I do sorta miss the strawberries, which i had been growing up until i think this past summer. they had dried out and i didnt start watering them over the winter....so i would have to buy new plants. Those are a definite war with the birds, squirrels, bunnies etc to get em growing...although it was fun the one year when spring came really early in March. That year, they were wintering on my back porch and when they started sprouting i started watering and I even had fresh strawberries in early april!! For Wisconsin that is sort of a miracle.

I confess I think planting in the ground would be loads easier. Thankfully i have my kids wagon(best investment i made when I first moved in). That wagon has hauled many many things. That way I did have to lift the pots into and out of the wagon, but didnt have to walk a long distance with 20-30 pots!

I do feel pretty darn good though that I have managed to pot as much as i have. last summer after i first got diagnosed, i was so busy going to the Y that I had bought a few cherry tomato plants and maybe 1 other...but never got to potting any. i did still get a few cherry tomatoes of those little plants. So this year maybe i got a wee bit carried away cuz i did nothing last year. Will say it had better NOT keep increasing at the same rate it has in the past 6 years.....or i wont have room for my van before long!!
