Hi All!!  Well, when I went to my doctor here at home, he went on and did a complete blood count on me.  There is good news and bad news!

First the good news, my A1c was GREAT!! :)  5.2  Of course, though, I do have a question about that.  Since it is an average, if I am having lots of ups and downs, couldn't those average each other out and make my A1c look normal???

Other good news is my liver and kidney functions came back normal.

Bad news....  My cholesterol, the doctor marked as normal, but when I was looking at what the numbers should be, mine seemed less than desirable.  My total cholesteral is 200.  My HDL is 55, and my LDL is 114 with my Triglycerides at 157...

What do you all think???  Are those numbers okay??

I know Mary Frances has said for diabetics they want the cholesterol under 100.

Hi...that's LDL (also known as Low Density Lipoprotein Cholesterol or "Bad" Cholesterol) that should be under 100, not (Total) Cholesterol. Cholesterol is necessary to maintain cell wall integrity, so theoretically it is possible for it to be too low. 150 sounds good for an upper limit for Total Cholesterol.

Enjoy your summer................
