I just wanted to share what I ate today.. I just feel I am not eating enough or something.. I work at McDonald's and I thought I was going to have to get a quarter pounder with Cheese before the day was over..I felt weak and just sick feeling.. maybe its something I am not eating right.
This morning my number reading was 87.. I was like wow this thing goes in the 80's lol
I ate two slices of sugar free bread.. that has 11gram of carbs.. and I had peanut butter on it and that was 6g of carbs..
I had a yogurt parfait at work.. if any of you knwo what those look like at McDonalds.. it had 30g of carbs.. and then I had some apple slices that was 22g of carbs.. I just have felt sick and weak.. I thought there is no way I can keep this up.. I walked 1/2 mile after I got off from work today.. and now I am trying to decide what I am going to have for supper..think its going to be broccoli medleys and grill chicken.. so anyway I just wanted to know if I am eating enough or if that is not enough.. bye for now Melody..

I am suppose to have a total of 180 a day.. that was from this morning and lunch and snack.. that is the total number of carbs what was 69 total from 6 this morning until 4 this afternoon.. that was to low from what I was suppose to have.. hmm which bring another question my way.. and that is if you have only 30 one meal can I Have 60 another meal.. or does it have to be 30 30 30 30 30 30 which is breakfast..30g lunch 30 snack 30 sand I have a snack when I get home 30 and then dinner 30.. = 180grams of carbs.. so anyway hmm well just thought of another question.. and that is lets say I have 10carbs for breakfast.. ok didnt eat 30g for breakfast so can I have 50g of carbs for lunch? to make up for what I didnt have for breakfast.? bye for now Melody
Thought I would add my two cents, but first let me say I think the best thing I ever did was meet with a dietician (as well as a diabetes educator) to set up a meal plan, she is so helpful, supportive and educational. I am also on 180 grams of carbs per day. With the help of my dietician we spread them out as follows: 45g for breakfast; 45g for lunch; 15g for an afternoon snack; 45g for dinner and 30g for an evening snack. A typical days meal plan for me is:
Breakfast - 4 oz. 1% milk, 1 small banana, 2/3c oatbran cereal
Lunch - 1/2 tuna sandwich on whole wheat bread, 10 baked chips, 1 small apple, celery
Snack - 1 small nectarine
Dinner - 4 oz. boneless chicken breast, medium baked potato, 1and 1/2c broccoli, salad
Snack - 4oz. lite yogurt, 6 animal crackers
Meals plans are based on the individuals needs and goals, have you met with a dietician yet? Hope this helps you some. Jmcruisin
Yes I did go see a diabetic lady yesterday.. and she told me for my schedule the best schedule for me was 30g at each meal and snack time.. and as far as what works for me is I feel really sick when the number is 87.. I think my body cant take that number I just feel to sick and weak I think when they are talking about your sugar being low I think mine is low at that time.. what do yall think? bye bye Melody
It sounds like you really do need to attend that class since they will have you meet with a dietician to help set up a meal plan for you. I myself have 45 grams of carbs with breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Now for my snacks I get 15 grams of carbs. This all adds up to 180 grams of carbs per day. As for saving carbs up for later use that is not going to work since carbs raise blood sugar right off the bat, which your carbs are suppose to be used at each meal not saved up for later use. If that was the case many of us would be doing that to eat something we really want to, but find it just doesn't work with a given meal plan.
Since you work your really needing to see a dietician to set up a good meal plan for you based on your own personal activity in a day. This way you get enough to eat while still keeping a great blood sugar. Remember we are all different and what works for one person might not for another. Take care and have an excellent day!
