I read somewhere that being on your period can make your blood sugar spike; does it make it double sometimes? I am just starting my period and for the last week, my blood sugar has been around the 200+ range. I was going to see my Dr about it, but now I am thinking I will wait until my period is over to see if my levels go back down. Any ideas? Thanks. :)

I am no doctor by any means, but do suggest that you call to discuss what you have been experiencing with blood sugars and also telling your doctor that it is your time of the month. From my experience I do know that being pregnant causes blood sugar to be up there due to hormones such as estrogen and progesterone being up there and those hormones very much effect blood sugar. So if either hormone levels are up there than you would experience high blood sugars until the level came down. I can't say that a menstrual cycle would cause blood sugar to double, but it is possible especially if you are also having a stressful time with things since stress raises blood sugar.

I really hope you find the reason for the high blood sugars since I know how frustrating it is to go through this, but it does work out eventually with time. Take care and do have a super enjoyable weekend!
