WEll day before yesterday.. I felt bad so I took my sugar and it was 139.. which was high because I felt bad.. just didnt feel good at all.. so I thought well want make that mistake again.. then last night I ate this bar its like a nutrisweet bar or something like that.. I saw it had less then 30g of carbs so I ate it.. and I didnt feel to good after eating that.. so I am not eating anymore of those for a snack..I felt so bad I ddint even stick myself last night all I wanted to do was go to bed.. and that is exactly what I did.. I woke up fine this morning so I didnt even check again.. I just hate checking my blood so much..and I want to save the last 2 days worth so in case I feel really bad and dont know whats going on I can take my blood sugar.... I am hoping to get some strips from the company really soon.. I filled out a patients assistant thing and sent it well faxed it to them going to call them and tell them I am almost out of strips.. so hopefully they can send them quick.. and then I will go back to checking it three times a day.. .. so anyway that is all that is going on.. I can tell I am losing weight and that is very good.. tonight I went walking in a pool for an hour.. I have three boils right now that are really making me not feel to good.. but maybe they will go away. I have what they call HS as well .. and its a disease a skin disease.. I guess you would say or a blood disease.. so anyway

OH I have a question for everyone .. okay.. if I take care of myself eat healthy and keep my sugar down and take the meds.. on and on yada yada yada... could I still have any of those complications that they talk about? ANd also if I have any of thse things already.. like::

Nerve damage in my right leg.. eye sight gone bad in the past six months.. and a major foot problem.. do you think that some of these will go away.? so anyway thanks alot bye for now Melody

Now I am no doctor so what I say can or may not happen for you. You could see them go away, become less noticeable, or stay the same. I just know that if you get yourself in good control your less likely to see complications at all.

Now from my very own experience in which I have neuropathy and retinopathy I can honestly say that my retinopathy isn't even showing at all as of last eye exam. How ever my neuropathy seems to be staying the same, but I believe that to be due to the nerve damage that was already done and that is not going to come back after the nerves are damaged. So you can see some of the things that you are experiencing could go away or not improve at all, but the only way to find out is to get yourself

It takes a few months to a year of controlled blood sugar to see if there will be any improvement in your symptoms. I read that in a book. I suspect that I have the neuro thing in my digestive system, that was the reason I was reading the book. The book only said the symptoms MAY improve.

The only promises I have to make is that if you don't conrol the sugar, things can and will get worse. Diabetes is a permanet condition not an illness that will get all better. All we can do is learn how to keep it under control. And hope they come up with a cure for it in our lifetime. (They are getting close with the cell replacements.)

The treatment for diabetes HAS improved, my Grandmother was always passing out from diabetic comas and insullin shock. They made diet and meds (the pill) improvements in my Mother's time plus doctors learned to find the diabetes sooner. (She's going to be 88 in August) She was out dancing with a boyfriend last winter. So the quality of a diabetics life has improved a lot.

I was dx'ed with it last month and am working hard at getting my bg levels down. It has been hard because I have not been able to exercise much, and exercise will help in bringing the levels down faster. I am down to the high end of the goals set for me by my doctor.

Forgot to mention about the boils. I used to get them and discovered that too much caffiene was causing them on me, at least. Lessen your intake of coffee and cola drinks and they may quit or lessen. Wouldn't hurt to try see if it works for you.
