Hi all;

I was reading one of my journals the other day and saw a reference to this article.  As many of you know diabetes is second only to being a female as the number 2 risk for developing an UTI.  there has always been much speculation about why this happens.  This short little article may explain it.

Please let me know what you think after you read it.

Gentle hugs

(PS for those who do not know me I am Mary Frances' twin sister and she lets me post here from time to time.  I usually can be found over on the hepatitis or the UTI boards.)

Hey

Thanks for sharing this info.. Almost every time I go and get a urinalist test done.. I always have a UTI.. I have had to test done where they have looked at my kidneys a few years back to find out why I have blood in my urine.. and usually have UTI. Thanks for this info.. I think today I am getting a urinalize test done because the diatician wanted one done to see if all of that is okay. I will let you all know what the doctor says today:) Thanks for the info.. bye for now Melody

Thank you so very much Harriette for sharing that article with us. I found it to be interesting, but do really think more research needs to be done in this area to know more. I do understand the insulin to glucose causing problems with both type 2's and gestationals since most are diagnosed after spilling glucose for a while. Just shows it pays to get yourself checked if you have even a single symptom of diabetes or none at all since so many people who are over weight end up being diagnosed.

So much research is always going on for diabetes, but we really don't hear to much about it. I wish that it was always shared with the public on what research is being done in the way of diabetes along with other diseases, because we know research

Denise;

I agree with you that there is a lot of research going on and how to get the results out to those that need it is a real challenge.
