Well i got my result back in today, Well my doctors nurse called as he is out to day.She tells me that all the test came back normall and that im not Hypoglycemic! How can she say that .I dont want there to be anything wrong, and i wish there was nothing wrong but i know something is not right.I know they go off the test result reading (91 level) but why do i have bad lows and crashes how can a normall person go down to 32 and 40's.So now im stuck trying to find out what the heck is going on. Plus i also have the signs when it gets low, Sweating, fast heartbeat, shaking, fatigue and also i get the bad speach and with all this they say im o.k 100% normall !

Plus what i have been doing the last 3 month's eating right and 0 sugar so its not going to show my levels being that bad.If they did these test 3 months ago they would have seen different results.it makes me want to go back to my normall eating habits and than take the test again and than shw them. His nurse made to fill like i was a freak and that it was all in my mind..........i just want to SCREAM!! Can a person go down to 32 to low 50's without being Hypoglycemic.Plus i go down to the 50's maybe 3 to 5 times a week

I have tested my husband a few times, which we found him to be in the 50's a few times with no side effects like your experiencing. Of course that is just something we have done to check him out as a just in case thing for us both. Granted I am not a doctor by no means, but I would have thought having a hemoglobin A1c would give more information as to how your blood sugars have been for the past 3 months and it is used to diagnose diabetes along with hypoglycemic.

I am so sorry your having such a rough time, which I really do hope that there isn't nothing wrong with you at all. Keep us posted on things with you especially if you decide to see somebody else, which is never a bad idea to have a 2nd opinion. Do take care and have a great day!

Hi Julie,

I share in your frustration at the lab tests. I did not test "diagnostic" in the lab either but I did chart my blood sugar readings over a period of time (3-4 months). When I brought my charts into the doctor (endo), she put me on glucophage even though my blood tests were borderline. After further charting, I brought my results to my ob/gyn (I was having other issues and wanted him brought up to speed), he said, "Oh Jennifer, you are type II" I had several readings over 200 and from that he based his diagnosis. I had already researched the diet, saw a dietician (who confused me more than helped me) and trying to adapt a healthier lifestyle. This is not a typical method for diagnosis but the glucophage is helping me tremendously as is the diet. My A1c tests range from 5.1 to 5.9 so I am still "in control" so far.

I hope this helps you some. I remember vividly feeling like the nurses thought I was overreacting. You are not and have loads of support here! Take care and let us know how you are doing.

I am curious what type of test did you have done? I suspected I was a diabetic for a few years and I demanded the doctor keep giving me regular blood tests and they kept saying I was normal. I don't eat sweets and I think I kept the diabetes controlled for years with my diet and exercise. I had diabetic symptoms every time I tried to quit smoking. (I would eat more sweets then)

I think the fasting glucose tolerance test is the only test that works to really tell you if you have diabetes or hyerglycemia. Be sure you don't have any coffee before they run it or it can ruin the test results. It takes half a day to run the test. You go in fasting and they give you some glucose then test your blood every hour. I wish I had demanded to have this test run on me.

The down side of this, was that when they finally found out I had diabetes, I had bad complications with it. I now suspect that I have neuropathy (not sure I spelled it right) in my bowels. I am getting a colonoscopy on August 10. It's sick, I know, to be praying that they find a poylp, instead of the neuropathy. I have had two bladder infections in a row and I have pain in my lower abdomen most of the time, even after the infections are cleared up. Just having to pass gas causes me extreme pain.

So please go to another doctor til they find your out your problem. Don't wait around for them to find it after you have big problems. I wish I had kept pushing my doctors more.

Boy i cant remember i had a ton of test done.Im going to see the endo doctor next month and cant wait.Im going to keep going untill someone agrees with me there is something wrong.Dont get me wrong i wish there was nothing wrong but i know there is, its not right for some one to get into the 30's. The last week i have been in the 180's for some reason i normall stay in the 70's or lower unless im going to have a crash and than it goes high and drops down fast.Sorry about the run around you had with your doctors, i think im going to have to deal with something like that.Good luck to you on your test on the 10th and thanks for answering my post.
