Some one please give me advice, I had posted this a couple of days ago but did not get to much feed back. I had gone to my doctors regarding my Hypoglycemia which I discovered I had about 3 months ago after a sugar crash and sugar level of 32.

Well I had a ton of test done and a test to see what my levels have been for the last 90 days. Well a couple of days ago the doctor’s nurse called me to tell me all my test can back o.k. and that there is nothing wrong with me. Well I asked her how can that be after all I have several reading a week in the low 40’s and 50’s plus i get all the symptoms when my levels do get low.shaking, fast heartbeat, sweatin I get extremely tired and at time have fallen asleep and also the speech sounds like im drunk. Could the test have come back o.k. as the last 3 months I have been watching my diet. I also told her the day I did the blood work I had drank a diet coke about 1 to 2 hours before but she said that would not matter. Just the way she was on the phone with me really made me angry she made me fill stupid and she ever laughed when she said your normal don’t want there to be anything wrong with me who does but I know there is something wrong. As soon as I eat something with sugar I go up to the 180’s and than crash sometimes worse than others. I fill like eating like I did before back to reg soda and candy and than having them do my blood work again to prove this to them. At this point they will not even let me get my own meter. Im having to used my husbands but he will be leaving town for a week soon for work.My question is can a non hypoglycemic person get that low “32” without being Hypoglycemic.

Hi

Well first of all is this your regular dr telling you this or an endocriologist? Seems to me you are hypo and they aren't seeing it or listening to you or what they find. I would find an endocrinologist and tell them everything that has been happening. As far as the meter goes you can go buy one at a pahrmacy without a prescription. same with the strips.

I would definately seek out a dr who knows something other than saying your normal and brushing you off on the matter.

Good luck

In my honest opinion general physicians are not well educated when it comes to diabetes of hypoglycemia with not knowing exactly what numbers indicate what. So I think your doctor made you an appointment with an endocrinologist to make sure he has not missed something and to get a second opinion on things. I sure hope that you find out what is going on with your blood sugars at this appointment, because I know how frustrating it can be to not know anything and still experience the same thing day in day out. Start making a list of questions you have so that way you have them with you and don't forget to ask something. Also you can purchase a blood sugar meter any many stores these days like Walmart for instance carries them with test strips.

That's great but I would still find a different pcp. This reminds me of obgyns who doint think your in peri till the hormone tests say you are. HUGS and good luck on your endo appointment. I hope it is a good one and that he/she can help you.
