I believe I have low iron levels, which I get the results tomorrow monring at my doctors appointment, which I was prescribed iron to take only I know from previous experience it causes constipation for me. So I want to try to get my levels up to where I am not needing the added iron. I have no idea what foods are high in iron other than prunes. Can you name a few things high in iron that I can try to get down to help raise my levels so I am no needing iron? I very much appreciate this so very much for any help you can offer me. I'll be sure to give an update on my doctor appointment some time tomorrow with the results of all my tests. Take care and do have a fabulous day!

Some good sources of iron are liver, red meat, and leafy green vegetables such as spinach and kale. (I'm sure I left some out!) And don't cook the food to death...spinach sauteed in a bit of olive oil, then dressed with a few drops of lemon juice, is great. And I hear that ever-so-slightly-pink liver is delicious (hate the stuff myself...)! Good luck.
