Well the results of my blood work are in at last from the endo doc. They said the A1c test “I think I got that right” shows a Dailey glucose level of 51.Remember I just had these same test done about a month ago and my family doctors nurse laughed at me telling me I was o.k. and was just looking for a problem.Im sure happy I kept on there butts to get me indo a specialist. The nurse at my doctor office even told me your see he will tell you your alright.Gosh I just want to rub it in her face that maybe she does not know everything, I knew there was something wrong but the hoops I had to go throw to prove it was stupid. The endo doc wants to see me September 13th to let me know what needs to be done. I have no idea what they are going to do to control it. Oh and back to my family doc after this and many other screw up the last couple of months his no longer my doctor……………I have a new one that my husband will be seeing for the first time tomorrow his also a diabetic himself so maybe he will be a little more understanding.Hubbie has been told he needs the insulin pump so I hope he will get a good result with the new doctor. Just thought I would give you all a update, but im still confused to why im having the very high 200’s

Julie,

You have been through such a nighmare. I hope the endo has a solution to your problems. With your hubby's diabetes getting so bad, why isn't he seeing the endo also? You raise so many questions about him in my mind. He hasn't even been started on insulin yet has he? I am not saying that he doesn't need insulin because he probably does. But he needs to know whether he can still manage his disease with medication, and I certainly hope he really doesn't have to go on a renal diabetic diet as that is a horrible eating plan. Does your hubby take his diabetes seriously or is he still bargaining with the disease. You guys have such young children I certainly hope he is taking it seriously.

Have a great week,

Mary Frances

Im so happy that i finally have a answer. As for my hubbie he has been on 50 units of isulin for some months.he has been on a stricked diet also.I asked my family doctor to send him to a Endo doc and also a specialist to let him know what to eat and not eat. , The liver and kidney specialist that brian went to said he should see them. But i guess my family doctor does that think its that bad. He said that he cant send Brian just because i said the kidney doc said so.He said once he get's the notes for the visit Brian had he may than look into sending him. He is going to see a new doctor today so i hope and think we will have better luck.

Julie,

Brian sounds like a good candidate for an endocrinologist to help manage his disease. I hope he can also see a dietitian for meal planning help. If your insurance covers it, and if you have any questions

Thanks Mary francies you are wonderfull for all your help, He is on Lantus.I have been reading about people being insulin resistance, i think that may be his problem. They are trying to push for the insulin pump i hope that works for him.he is going to see a endocrinologist and we are both going to see a dietitian, we both are on what we think are good diets but i know we will learn much more.I also know we have a lot more that we NEED to learn and KNOW. I dont know if i said before we are now under a new family doctor and he seems to be right on the ball and boy he is staying right on top of brian, which he needs. We have been running every night also as he needs to loose weight his 5'11 and 22olbs so the weight has to come off it will help him a lot im sure. Once again thank you and also thank you for looking into the test, its a pain when they send you the results but you have no idea what your looking at but those 3 things there have a circle around !

I hope to get s good idea to why im going into the high 200's i really thought this test was going to come back that my levels are high. The other day i got up before i had anything to eat or drink and i was at 222!
