It just seemed very fitting to get to the silver medal WHILE the OLYMPICS is still on!!
May not seem like a big deal, but I am still way overweight, severe arthritis in the one knee(bad enough one dr told me to use walker or electric cart instead of walking on my own!!). Have always been heavy, and have never been that active, other than in high school when i was active in girl scouting and did camping and that kind of stuff. I did always like swimming and riding my bike, but the bike was put off limits for sure after i broke my leg in 92. ACtually have had significant amount of arthritis in the one knee since i was about 27 years old, and that was almost 30 years ago!! I did learn NOT to raise the ramp height AT ALL since the knee got funky when I did, and also if the knee is really painful, give it a rest. But then if all else fails i could still go on the arm machine, and have been known to work on that for over an hour and a half!!

CONGRATULATIONS and KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK. I can't
I haven't had much time to figure out the fancy stuff here either! But it is fun to see what you can do on here!!!
I did get the free freestyle pedometer that i sent in for from my freestyle test strips....but not sure if it didnt work because I am heavy or what. It kept shutting off and on, even right while i was walking! Think I will get one, but am going to try to find one that seems to be really sturdy and will work with a heavy person. Glad you or someone had mentioned the point about some of them shutting off on their own, since i would not want that either.
So far I have been keeping track of the steps on the elliptical, and discovered this week that one night i finally made it past 3 miles on it. That was a time when i started out doing it for 25 minutes and the did it for another 25 minutes right after that. Actually made it to something like 3 1/3 or more miles. Finally have gotten to the point i can actually walk faster and for longer before having to slow down. But this means now besides going for the gold I can also work towards getting over 4 miles on the elliptical. Also one of these days need to see how far i can actually walk outside again.

There are times it is hard for me to believe I am still going as far as I am.
But then I have a weekend like this one that resulted in migraines, and am SO glad I dont have to worry about having to eat because the meds I am on could cause me to go low! That is still a big motivating factor, BUT then the other benefits are there too. It has helped with the weight, helped my moods, and sure helps even lessen the amount of pain meds I use for the arthritis!
