Adventures in low blood sugar

I've done some real doozies. The one my boyfriend always talks about is "the time rainbow said she was going to eat the cat." I had been sleeping and got up around noon with low blood sugar. I didn't realize anything was wrong. I sat down at the computer to read email, but I kept falling off my chair. My boyfiend found me sitting on the floor trying to reach the computer keyboard. He asked me, "Are you okay? Maybe you should eat lunch." Just then my cat Calli walked by. I grabbed her and asked, "Is Calli for lunch?" My boyfriend said, "No, Calli is not for lunch. Give Calli to me," and took Calli away from me. He put her outside saying, "Calli, I think you're safer outside until Mommy eats something." Then he fed me some sugar cubes until I was acting more like myself.
Another time I woke up with low blood sugar and tried to eat my clock radio. I don't know why; I just picked it up and tried to take a bite out of it.

No I haven't done anything like that, if I had my cat probably wouldn't be 18 1/2! That was incrediably funny for everyone but the poor cat!
I have done stupid things like drive my car home on the freeway because I decided that I would feel better if I went home. I also walked in front of car recently. Luckily I wasn't injured.
Great question!

Great question to ask. I have never done anything that strange before since when I am low I generally pass out or go to sleep. I have how ever tried lifting my shirt up to cool myself off with low blood sugar out in public none the less in which my husband has had to hold my shirt down while telling me to leave my shirt down while he got me something to treat my low blood sugar. I have also pulled over in a parking lot while driving to turn off the car and just sit there dazed, which usually somebody comes over to see if I am ok and calls for help right away. So thankfully I have not done anything that to bizarre.
It sounds like your cat has an inner sense with having been around you for a very long time, which is always great to be able to have something to go by that tells you that you really need to check your blood sugar. I had a dog who would know when I got low and go get somebody anyway he could to bring them to me, which was so great since back than I had major problems with low blood sugars so often. My husband was amazed at how my dog would go get him by barking at him until he would follow him to me, which in my opinion is something most dogs just do not do. How ever sadly my poor dog passed away in which I miss him tremendously since he was my life saver so many times and my such a great companion. I hope to some day have another dog just as loyal, but also keen on my blood sugars since it is always nice to have somebody else around to know when your low or having troubles.
Be sure to trust in your cats better sense especially when trying to get your attention since some how your cat has a better instinct on your blood sugar than you do. It is always better to be safe than sorry in my opinion. Take care and do have a very good day!
