become addicted to them? I have become so addicted to the Yoplait Nouriche drinks that I have at the least 1 per day, which I love the peach, strawberry, and strawberry/banana combination ones. I have found that they do not raise my blood sugar at all and are pretty healthy to have at least according to my nutritionies and CDE. I'll share what they contain in the way of nutrional information with you all so that if you have not tried them and want to you'll be aware of what a serving contains in them.

Denise,

This is when you are going to see the difference between a type 1 and a type 2 diabetic. If I eat anything with that much sugar in it I can hardly function for several hours afterwards. I have to fight falling asleep. There is no way for me to take a bolus of insulin to cover the fast acting carbs. I know that all carbs raise your blood sugar the same amount but simple carbs simply raise my blood sugar to high to quickly and I am miserable afterwards. I have looked at these and was hoping that they would come out with a reduced sugar variety but they haven't yet or at least they are not carried in my grocery stores.

But since you have a hard time gaining weight with your pregnancy I bet these are good for you and nutritious. I like the fat free artifically sweetened peach yougart and have been eating it for my bedtime snack. This is one of the changes the dieitian made in my meal plan and I was so happy to have this back! Tastes sooooo good.

The heat has finally broken around here and today was so much better than it has been for the past week. We should all have a good weekend weather wise.

Have a great weekend,

Mary Frances

Actually I just noticed at the store last night that they just DID add a low sugar one. Not sure whether it uses splenda or aspartamine....But Yoplait did just add i think its actually called low carb although it might be listed as low sugar. I noticed it at the same time as I noticed that Dannon also added a low carb version of their fit n lively yogurt drinks. Both the Fit n Lively ones come in a 4 pack and actually the regular fit n lively ones ALSO has no fat if i remember. the lo carb version that also just came out DOES have fat in it. The fit n lively regular ones, I do like the mixed berry and the raspberry versions. I almost grabbed the lo carb version to try because they had a peach something one...but then i realized that the 4 pack of them was $1 MORE for the 4 pack of the lo carb version. That bugged me so i didnt buy them!

I did try one of the nouriche ones, the regular ones...but at that point I wanted something that was really either lower in carbs or else higher in protein(so then I went with the slimfast..) that was when I was looking for a "fast food" version of lunch I could drink when I went to the Y at noon.

Actualy what you have been drinking Denise IS the Nouriche Light drink.

Checked today and the regular version has 290 calories AND 60 carbs, although it also shows 6 grams of fiber on the web site. It only has 10 grams of protein. It shows FORTY SIX grams of regular sugars.

The light is the one with 18 grams of sugar. I would say the Nouriche Light is a MUCH better deal for anybody!! ACtually the 46 grams of sugar is the same amount the can of A & W soda has in it.

Actually Mary Frances might be able to handle the Light N Lively Carb light smoothie. It has only 4 carbs versus 14 for the regular light n lively smoothie. I did buy a 4 pack of the peaches n cream version so when i try it will tell you how that is. I think the carb light version has 70 calories versus 80 calories for the regular light n lively smoothie. Just grabbed the Dannon light version. Actually it is in red packaging and is called CARB Control...but in small letters also says its Light N Fit.

Warning for those with problems similar to me.....the regular Dannon Light n Fit creamy yogurts DO have aspartamine in them. But thankfully these do not, they have splenda.

For Mary Frances, the Carb control smooth (at least the peaches n cream version has only 3 grams sugar. It does have 6 grams protein so not as high as the nouriche version but also has less than 1/2 the calories.

Oops you are correct it is the nouriche light I drink due to it having less carbs and sugars in it. How I forgot to mention that is way beyond me. So thank you for mentioning that to me since I should have gotten it correct in the first place.

I have seen those Dannon or the light n lively I have not tried as of yet, but I am in need of the calories and carbs at time so I tend to go with the nouriche light since it seems to work well for me especially in treating a low blood sugar. I guess we all have our own little things we like, but it never hurts to share what we find that we really enjoy since some may not know of it.

I am going out to the grocery store tomorrow so I might grab me some of the ones you mentioned to try it out and see how I like it since that is the best way to know if it is going to work for me. LOL I'll let you know how it goes for me. Take care and do have a super weekend!

I am so happy to hear that you got your yogart back for a bed time snack since I know how great it is to get something back in a meal plan that you so enjoy. I do not know why they do not make a lower sugar one since so many people are diabetic and tend to worry about these things, which in my opinion they should be able to come out with one. I use them to help keep my blood sugars up since I tend to go low out of the blue and I seem not to have any problems with it raising my blood sugar at all even. When I have a low blood sugar I drink one to get it back up and eat something to keep it that way, which it seems to work well for me so far.

Maybe try one of the ones auntydoxxy suggested since they do not have much carbs or sugars in them. Who knows you might find something that you really enjoy. I myself am going to see what I do find in the way of yogart drinks so that I know what I have for options in case I ever find I can no longer enjoy the ones I do now. It never hurts to have a back up on something that you enjoy and works well for you.

So glad to hear that your temperatures have come down to a level that is not to hot or cold. Sounds like you can really enjoy your weekend with not having to worry about it being so hot outside. We have had a few days of cool temperatures, but we did have a rather hot one today and yesterday and it seems to be just how it is going to be for a while. Oh well, I know the cool temperatures are on there way, which will be a nice change.

Take care and do enjoy your weekend!

One caution on all of these yogurt drinks, watch the sell by dates carefully. they do not seem to have as long a time frame as regular yogurt.

I confess since I dont drink them real regular, i have to be very carefull of that. i know that on regular yogurt, its usually safe to eat up to at least a week after that date, but Im not sure on the drink ones.

Thank you for sharing that with us. I generally drink all of mine up fast so I don't worry so much about it, but I should check the last 2 of the ones I purchased since it has been 2 weeks come Wednesday and I would not want to drink something that was rotten. Take care and do have a great day!
