Hey group,

Its been a while since I have been here .. to all the new members welcome here This is a good group and if you are newly diagnosed this is the best message board to learn from,, get support.. encouragement..My computer was in the shop for almost a month.. and I have been busy trying to keep the diabetic under control.. my numbers run from 90 -100 usually which is excellent.. I have lost 43 pounds since June 23.04 so I am excited about that.. I have never in my life lost so much weight.. and it so neat because I am doing things I never knew I could do before .. I have lost inches in my waist,, in my neck in my legs in my fingers.. my rings are getting to big..my clothes are getting to big.. lol.. My weight when I started was 284.. now its 241.. so its neat.. my numbers the paast week have been over 100 but not over 150.. I try to shoot for under a 100.. because I know that is what I usually can run.. but lately been upset and depressed about something.. and now I see how stress can be a factor.. so until I get my number down where its suppose to be I am going to check it three times a day.. like tonight it was 136 but hey that is not bad at all and I know that but I need it to be under 100. going and eating Chinese food didnt help matters at all tonight.. I always feel bad when I make bad choices.. but oh well next meal I will do better.. always doing the next meal better.. instead of one day at a time its one meal at a time.. WEll gang I am gone for now all of you take care..bye for now Melody

A big "Congratulations" on the weight loss that is just simply awesome since many of us know how hard it is to do. So your doing fantastic with loosing the weight and your numbers are also great. So keep up all that hard work, because it is paying off for you. Remember that the weight was not put on over night and it will come off with time not to mention hard work as well, which you know all about that though.


I really do like your idea on doing it meal by meal instead of day by day, because it is less stress to worry about an entire day, but instead just concentrate on the meal at hand. If we learn to eat right all the time we would all do so much better, but granted we all do fall off the wagon from time to time and that is to be expected especially during a rough time. Just make sure to find a way to help you relax so that the nasty stress does not cause your blood sugar to be up higher than you would like to see it. You would know best what works for you to help you destress.


Just know we are all here for you. It is great to hear from you once again and I so hope you do drop a post more often. Take care and do enjoy the day!
